MyChart video visit instructions

This video prepares you for what to expect during a MyChart video visit. Video visits allow you to interact with your health care provider through live video and audio on your own device. You will be able talk to your provider, similar to an office visit, by using your smartphone, tablet or computer to connect through MyChart.

Phone calls are better options for everyone. This is what not properly understanding your audience. This is a stressful time, more so for some than others. The extra effort on your part to make this experience more personal would be most helpful and appreciated.

Have had more stress over this visit than having cancer. Am not internet savvy. Not sure I am connected or not but tried a chat with my daughter and it worked.Hope this is ok..

Hi, Margaret. I help my parents with this all the time. The first time is always the most daunting, especially if you are going it alone. The good news is, if you can already use Zoom to talk to your daughter, you are already most of the way there! When the time comes, go to your appointment in the MyChart. Look for the green camera icon (it shows up half an hour before the appointment) and press the green "Begin Visit" button. This will automatically open Zoom to the correct meeting with your doctor. Be sure to hit the "Allow this program to open Zoom" button. While you are waiting for the doctor to show up, you will be sitting at a white Zoom screen that says something like, "Waiting for person to join meeting". Once the doctor shows up, you will start to see the Zoom screen change to a video visit. Be sure to hit the "Use camera", "Use audio on this device", etc., buttons. You will see your doctor on the big screen and yourself in a little square in the corner. If you're anything like me, your first reaction will be, "Gosh, I look horrible on video." We all have that reaction, hee hee. Good luck!!! 🙂

This video is helpful but does not include how to allow a family member to attend from another location which is possible.

Yikes...totally confused! Very stressful and annoying trying to figure it all out. Couldn't I just have a phone call visit?? Would be so much easier.

If you are having the visit on your smart phone, do you list a landline as the phone # for them to reach your OR do you list the smart phone??

We are so confused. Dennis and I have never done a video chat. We do not understand this stuff. Just call us. When we are there at MD Anderson next week we will get someone to help us do the downloads. We are going to be there at Houston TX for MD Anderson Cancer hospital/center Tuesday thru Friday. We can come see you face to face next week. We could be there Monday next week if you want to see us then. We need to know thos

If this info is for us to learn - you need to speak very slowly and give us time to figure out what you just said - we are Seniors and are trying to learn- we are in pre K - so speak slowly and give us time to fine what you are speaking about -thank you maybe you need to offer a video for new users and seniors - Thank you very much for listening - Kathleen
