ENTP here, according to science, intelligent people are often in a state with full of thoughts,silent and calculative.and one of those thoughts are battling yourself with facts that contradicts it's neighbors, like: Quantum physics and The theory of relativity, and Science and religion. I mean... most of the "INFPs and especially INFJs" in the mbti community are mistyped because they took the 16personalities test and haven't researched cognitive functions. 😃
@axd0045
@axd0045 2 жыл бұрын
@@sipulit7295 I took the cognitive functions test as well, and it affirmed my most pronounced cognitive function is "introverted feeling". I cannot see myself fitting in any other classification apart from INFP. I think people in general view myer-briggs in far too rigid terms sometimes, they fail to understand it is a personality guide, not a concrete classification with no room for nuance.

The part about INFP's having a rather unassuming life from the outside but having a rich inner world is so fascinating. I meet plenty of people that don't show much interest in learning more about my inner world, and while I have no expectation or judgement of them for it, I just can't help but think what they're missing out on. The analogy of a wardrobe and Narnia can summarize it quite well.

No wonder until now I can never decide what I want to be, because everything seems fun and exciting. Seriously, I want to be a teacher, a therapist, a baker, a farmer, an artist, a lyricist, a content creator, an entrepreneur, make my own recipe and do business, omg.. Advice for INTPs: - Focus on your own weaknesses, learn to apply your pattern recognition to emotions, test on yourself first, figure out what biological things are happening when you get angry, upset or even happy, remember how these illogical emotional things impact your thinking, then start applying that logic when dealing with someone also experiencing the same thing. Giving logical arguments to a pissed off or upset person isn't going to work, you know it'll just make them dig in their heels, just like you :) - Get a whiteboard with a grid for filling in the days of a month, use this to move the mental load of remembering small things that need to happen on a schedule and to keep you grounded. - Do not argue with stupid people, this sounds harsh, but understanding that you can't force someone to change their mind if they're already to rigid in their thinking, it'll just lead to your own frustration and making you look like a jerk.

As an INFP I can say that pretty much everything is on point. I want to help others and Iam passionate about stuff. When I have a passion I dive deep but with other stuff that I'm not passionate about, I have trouble with. I daydream a lot and it has come a problem, I just need to work but it is extremely hard at times. I do not worry about anything as it will always work out. Everything that happens to me is ultimately good, even if it doesn't feel like that in the moment.

as an infj, when i was a child i used to think my parents' problems were also my problem. i spent my childhood thinking of what i can do when i get older to help, and make a difference in our family. as i got older, i was always told that i was thoughtful, and considerate; things i knew myself. but yep, it's hard to grow up while you were constantly looking out for other people, even though you don't really want it.

As an INTJ, when i was a child i was similar in a way. But i wasn’t an emotional child, i constantly was a kid who thought logically about things, the pros and cons to everything without emotions. The way i responded to those issues was to help them in a way indirectly. Like if they asked me what i wanted for my birthday while they were poor, i told them i didn’t need or want anything so they could save money. Or if it was something that was a huge responsibility, i would also handle it in a way that would help them out as well in terms of not having to worry alot. Like when my mom asked me when i was 15yo what kind of car i wanted to get for my 16th birthday. And i told her i didn’t want a car because i knew it was a huge responsibility to have to have a car payment, maintainence, car insurance and just the fact i would have to operate a heavy piece of machinery while on the road with other drivers that could be very unpredictable. She told me i was an odd child because i wasn’t the typical thinker for my young age. I got alot growing up that i even though i was quiet, shy and private, i was wise beyond my years.

As an INTJ, I've only recently just learned that other people only wanted someone to vent out to, not have their problems solved. I don't know how but I've tried it and it was the only time that I realized that not all problems and failures does not need to be analyzed and solved.
@queeniecraft

Fellow INTJ -- I also greatly struggle with this at times! I've gotten into the habit of asking before a conversation starts, "Would you like me to listen or do you want some input?" It saves yourself and the other person a lot of frustration. I am more of a "If I'm saying anything I have considered solutions and am ready to act", and less of a, "I want to vent about this and then do nothing because venting alone helped enough" so it was hard for me to grasp at first.

I think they are called Archtects because this major combines creativity, imagination and innovation AND stric calculations and analysis, cause you're still making a real thing, a real project what people will be using. A lot of architects know not only how to draw but basics for engineering, physics and many others majors cause they're creating for a real world and they should think of each little aspect to reach perfection Just like INTJ's personality brings together not only rationality but imagination.

As an INFP, this is so accurate. My mind's really loud all the time, trying to converse with myself, that it becomes overwhelming at times. Also, I always have high expectations for myself; in all aspects of life, that's why a lot of people tend to say that I'm a perfectionist. This is also the reason why I have never entered in a relationship. In addition, it has always been my greatest dream to help those people in need so once I have enough money, hopefully I could establish a foundation. I also wish to adopt in the future 😊

One thing I noticed, as an INTP too, is that not only am I a perfectionist, but I'm also a procrastinator (I think that's where the "P" comes in, i.e. play now work later). If I can't imagine doing something perfect in my head, then I won't even start it. However, starting a project, and learning from the mistakes is what makes things perfect, which is so counterintuitive for my brain 😅

@Edgingwithaliens
@Edgingwithaliens 7 ай бұрын
I don't think your MBTI ever truely "changes" rather you learn how to develop other functions as you mature. You should look into the 4 quads of the brain. If your a ISTJ ( like myself) it would be your ego is the ISTJ, your subconscious is the ENFP, your unconscious is the ESTP, and you super-ego is the INFJ. As a child growing up I was bullied and picked on for being myself so since my personality was deemed unacceptable to my peers I started using my unconscious ESTP personality side of me untill my late 20s when I became more comfortable being "me" (ISTJ-T). Now at 42 I realize why I acted up, and turned in to the very same bully I so despised( If you can't beat them, join them mentally). This is the same reason why people sometimes don't "act like themselves" in certain situations. You can use other MBTIs in your quad but it just takes more focus, doesn't come naturally, and will almost certainly feel drained after long periods of time. Just something to consider when exploring the very subjective world of MBTI......

INTJ here. This was quite possibly the most informative and most complimentary description of the INTJ personality I've ever seen on KZfaq. When you said they probably spend more time thinking about love than expressing it, I started laughing hysterically at my screen because that's exactly what I do! Same goes with any emotion, really. When I'm watching an emotional scene during a movie, instead of crying like some people may do, I just think to myself 'Man. I guess I'm supposed to cry at this bit.' I did cry a lot as a kid, but now I just can't. The rational part of my brain never switches off, I just don't like losing control of myself. This was also a great video to learn about the other personalities, particularly the extroverted sensors.

I am a natural ESFJ, but I have developed traits overtime that make me more akin to an ENFP. This is likely due to me learning the hard way overtime not to thrive only off of people pleasing, and learn how to enjoy life without needing to impress anyone but myself with my capabilities. I was born in a Christian household and closeted myself as a gay teenager until I was 18 years old (I knew since the age of 13) in order to keep my family, my church community, and my dad's reputation, who was on staff at the church, happy. I was on the edge of ending it all when I decided to make a change, and that was when my personality shifted tremendously. I still want to make people happy, but certainly not at the expense of my own well-being. I learned to detach and really became involved with my artistry and songwriting, learning to write down all that I felt and truly gain a sense of self-worth. Deep down, I still feel like I am that consul, but now, I project outward on a day to day basis that I am the campaigner, or, as the ulterior name suggests, the champion. Sometimes, and may I say, more recently, have noticed myself when the situation is serious or things need to get done, taking on the personality of an ESTP. This is somewhat strange to me, but this is almost like my inner confidence or faith, not my personality, slowly growing and evolving overtime. Ever since I've gotten obsessed with physical fitness and weightlifting, I have found a new inner strength that I never knew I had. I used to have nightmares where I'd get disowned and hated on by people I knew or loved, and I would do nothing but sit back and take it or wake up with sweat dripping from my face in the middle of the night. The monsters used to get me and I'd let them, and there was nothing I thought I could do. Now, I still have those dreams from time to time. But instead of being afraid, I will literally fight back in these dreams and stand up for myself, usually coming out victorious. I have a newfound confidence in my subconscious, which is strange to think. The ESTP, personality type or entrepreneur, which often associates itself with athletes or people with high physical and mental strength and confidence, has slowly melded itself onto me as well. It's like there's this switch where I just naturally change into an ESTP when the atmosphere and objectives call for it. What's interesting is, as someone who believes in Astrology, I have my Ascendant in Leo, which could naturally be associated with ESFJ-type qualities. My Moon, on the other hand, is in Aquarius, Leo's opposite sign, in my 7th House, conjunct my Neptune at an orb of one degree. This is very fitting in that Aquarius traits could very well be associated with the ENFP personality type. My Gemini Venus and Mars are also conjunct each other in the 11th House, and the 11th House radiates Aquarian energy. Finally, my last heavily dominant sign, which I think could very well be associated with the ESTP personality type, is Aries. I have an Aries Sun conjunct my Aries Mercury in the 10th House, which is also conjunct my Midheaven. If you know Astrology, you know that planets in the 10th House, which is also the highest point of the house system, are culminated overtime instead of given gift-wrapped and entirely developed from early on in childhood. For anyone who read this far, sorry, I got pretty invested in what I was saying. But thanks for reading. Drop your personality type below so my overtly-caring personality can be accommodated reading it!

as an enfp I relate to the overcommitting so much. especially with people. I find it easy to make friends and want to hang out with everyone and ‘get the most’ out of being with them. I love being in social groups and chatting with people one on one, it gives me so much energy. but then when I completely drain myself and need to be alone I find I don’t have the energy to put into what I want to do creatively, or do the best I can at work, and that sucks. but if I say no I feel so much fomo, like I’ve missed an experience. it’s a hard balance lol still trying to work on that one

I have a tendency to get caught in an idea and lose focus on reality, all because I’m imagining all sorts of things. It’s hard for my brain to stop creating stories and the like in my head. I tend to want to write a lot, but end up stressing over if it is good or not. I like doing things for people a lot. I like making others breakfast, for example. As an ESTP, I only have 2 of those weaknesses left to fix and I’m in my 6th year into self-development and learning entrepreneurship via semi-forced isolation. Chose to isolate myself from the world until I’m a changed man. Took far longer than i thought. Nonetheless, my biggest hurtle is as you mentioned; entry level work that requires high amounts of focus, and being unstructured. But i believe they go hand in hand. I need to integrate the J’s ability of planning, scheduling, and structuring without the perfectionism. Last 6 years I focused on learning as much as I can which was hard but i was dedicated and interested to learn as much as I can to become the best version I can be of myself. Within the last 9 months, I pushed as much focus on awareness and development and structuring my mindset and how to manipulate and control my strengths and weaknesses in my favor, and its been working like a charm. Now all i need is to keep learning my craft and to structure it into actionable tasks, all the way to the finish line.

the part about the ENFP being accepting of their partners’ flaws and personalities is so real. as someone of the ENFP type who believes that communication is key in a relationship, i had once struggled with being in a relationship with my boyfriend who had a hard time communicating his thoughts and feelings from the smallest and simplest of things like how his day went, to even bigger things like where he sees himself in the future. but despite him being the avoidant type, i still accepted him and stood by his side because back then, i could never imagine living my life without him. often times, i would ask myself if i really did love him or if i just loved him because he loved me first. regardless, i am still struggling with that breakup until now, and i feel like i miss him more than anything these days. but maybe it was all for the best, and i can’t wait to be back to my cheerful, vibrant self.

I'm an ENFP and the part about trusting prematurely hit hard for me. I trusted someone too early and they ended up hurting my young, innocent heart far beyond full repair. It's made it tough for me to properly trust again and be that outgoing, caring, and approachable person I once was. Now a lot of people would say I'm more negative than I am positive, and one of the quietest in any group I'm in (and not just because I'm zoning off). I think it's important for any ENFP to be very careful about trusting others and now that I know that I made a decision. I decided I would have no secrets that need to be hidden, I share everything with almost everyone if they want to know so that I don't have to trust anyone. The only thing I don't share are my deep emotions. So to all those young ENFPs out there, be careful and learn when to keep something to yourself, or make the same decision I did.

As an ENFP with the same experience I am so, so sorry. I sometimes miss the person I used to be and I think that makes the heartbreak even worse… I think the solution is to not repress our natural urge to socialize, but try and be much more cautious around other people with how much we trust them right off the bat.

Hits home. I’m an ENFJ. I am into: all natural bodybuilding, music production, DJ’ing, philosophy, flair bartending, etc. I think I am sensitive, very authentic and have zero problem with being vulnerable. I’m told I’m super empathetic. I felt misunderstood and ‘not part of the group’ my whole life. The things I chose to do also made me even weirder. Hobbies, profession, interests, etc. I also live in Holland where ‘acting/being different’ is not really well received. ‘Act normal, then you are already acting crazy enough’ is a saying here. I’m also an ENFJ that hardly has any friends. That makes me feel even lonelier. I have a huge need for human contact but that contact is hard when people think you are odd.

Sorry to inform you but there is 99% chance that you are mistyped. 16personalieties is absolutely THE WORST site to take test for MBTI since it doesn't even listen to Myers-Briggs theory and instead of testing you for MBTI, it tests you for Big5 I recommend researching functions or at least do mistype Investigator test
@miumiuwony
@miumiuwony 2 жыл бұрын
I agree with ^. If anyone wonders why, it’s because 16 personalities(unfortunately the most widespread of mbti tests) types people based off of letters. That is not what mbti is about. Mbti is about cognitive functions. If you stick to taking tests, I suggest taking tests from multiple trusted sites and come to a conclusion. If the test results are significantly different, you could study cognitive functions and type yourself(just make sure not to be biased and seek help from other people). Good luck on your self discovery journey!

I'm an INFP too, I've self studied cognitive functions and learnt alot about my type. One of the traits of infp is to be able to know our own feelings quite well and a healthy infp will be able to control and express it in a healthy way. Our empathy also means we cannot stand unnecessary cruelty, especially towards others. It can lead to "evil" thoughts which our open mindedness doesn't shy away from. Healthy infps will engage with the thoughts but wouldn't act on it because we know our values deeply.

The part about analysts thinking they could do a better job than their peers is too true. That perfectionist personality paired with an ego. As a grad student, I find it incredibly hard to let someone do work under me, because if it doesn't succeed, in the back of my mind I'll always be thinking if the problem is their technique, or if it's an inherent problem. I'll always be more at peace with doing the work myself, since if I mess up, I can know for certain what went wrong. Guiding new students is a battle against myself to not take over and do the project myself, and to just let them fail and learn. Sometimes I would like clones of myself to work with. My perfectionism is really something I need to work on...

The problem wit the Myers-Briggs is that it does not recognise that personality traits exist on a continuum measured by the normal distribution. So take Extraversion / Introversion. If we divide the normal distribution into 9 divisions called Stanines as used by psychometricians, and startiing with Extraversion we would get: Stanine 1 = 4%, very very extraverted, hardly able to bear own company; Stanine 2 =next 7% - still very extraverted, very sociable; Stanine 3 = next 12% fairly into the extraverted side of Average; Stanine 4 - next 17%, just next to the average between introversion and extraversion; Stanine 5 = 20% the middle or average;; neither noticeably introverted nor extraverted. Going up the scale we get exactly the same percentages of introverts, and the same descriptions. But all the MBTI tells you is that you are Extraverted or Introverted. In answering the questionnaire, simply ticking one or two questions differently will move you from Extravert to Introvert or vice versa.

I’m an Infp and I’m really young. I’m glad I could do this test now rather than later because it definitely made me feel understood.

The other day I was thinking, if I could go back and meet my younger self, I'd say "there's this thing called MBTI. The reason you suffer so much is because you're an INFP," and then go on to explain the pros and cons. Oh man, could I have had such a better life had I known!

@@themartialartsapproach8786 I'm 45 and these are my exact thoughts. I try to persuade myself that there is time to fix the things though.

@@dionysiapanagou6035 that's true. I missed out on some good times in younger years, but also certainly dodged some bullets, and also had good experiences people might not typically have. You're right - better to move forward with wisdom thannlook backward with regret. I'll keep it in mind :)

ISFJ here: we’re very rare. The line about getting assignments done effectively but still procrastinating along the way hit so hard 🤣 we’re super sweet, quiet and loyal to family and friends.
