The band's frontman and gifted guitarist details the ingredients that make up his namesake ride.
PG’s John Bohlinger hung with Alter Bridge’s two-man guitar army, Mark Tremonti and Myles Kennedy, before their sold-out show at The Orpheum Theater in Memphis. Tremonti and Kennedy showcased some beautiful signature Paul Reed Smith guitars, as well as a not-yet-released PRS signature amp.

So he sings & plays in "Alter Bridge", does his own solo stuff, & sings with Slash. I think he's doing more than pretty good for himself, especially since he loves what he's doing!

I REALLY like it the neck width/nut width is under 42mm wide, that & the fact that I have a Fender Tele signed by Ian Thornley of the rock band "Big Wreck" makes it not for me, my Telecaster has a purpose with the single coil pick ups.

He could have made ANY guitar with them he wanted to...Paul is the kind of guy that would do that for artists...will he be paid...sure...but don't think that Paul would pay just anybody...

@@GeoffSweet He had 2 Guitarists in that band. One he made a Les Paul and the other he made a tele. They don’t sound as good as they did on the original instruments, but a pocketful of cash and as many beautiful guitars as you want, will make them feel better. I can’t think of an artist that went with a PRS that sounds as good as their original guitars. I admit the PRS guitars are pretty, but a great Tele is a simple wonder and a strat does the strat sound the best. I remember Leslie West went to PRS. He lost that sound he got from Juniors. PRS makes good instruments, but I like the originals better. I don’t blame Paul. If John Meyer wants a Strat, make him a beautiful Strat. It will never be up to his old guitars, but close enough. Most people won’t notice.

@@rickjason215Mark has played his signature model since Creed’s Human Clay album. Before that he played a Les Paul. If anything changed Marks tone, it’s the amps he’s chosen in studio and live over the years. Myles has used those Diesel amps for pretty much all of Alterbridge and PRS guitars. He gravitates towards a Tele but that’s what he likes and gets a modern twist on a classic guitar that Paul is know to do. I don’t blame him getting this guitar made for him. Gibson/ Fender are always looking backward when building their guitars. Paul is a modern guitar icon that always wants to make something 1% better when they believe there’s nothing else that can be approved on.
