inside areial's i bought 2 Blaupunkt it's a Flat Plate with a Circle & 2 x pull out chrome antenna's (like radio areial pull-outs) for £15:99 from B&Ms,with a new 65'' Samsung i get a good picture as your right when you buy these areial's always re-tune for channels as mines is pinned above my TV with it being a plug-in booster that is an amazing bit of kit for the price. HD channels are now all fine as the home we moved-in to had all new flooring with the areials taken away,the reason for 2 of these great areials is we needed another for our front-room that works so amazingly well ,for the price they do work well and are well worth the buying as there ment for a caravan's or mobile home's but do the job and really well ....cheers great video 10/10

Old roof ariel's before the Big Digital Ariel Con are amazing in our home as they even work sat behind the bedroom tv so well as even still have a FM-Ariel in my loft that's worthy of many,many channel's,i tend to use a simple thing's in life as my home is in the highest - point so merit's a great signal all down to bandwidths to mast area. Although a digital arielis just been put on the roof i do notice due to having a new Samsung yet more channel's and plenty of the radio stations too and lot's more HD-Channel's now opening -up . We have 3 TV's with 3 aerials, (1) works off the aerial that was on the roof till 1992, now in the loft gets all channels. (2) works off an indoor aerial that cost £5 connected to a booster, all channels. (3) in my sons room a Lidl indoor aerial with built in booster, works best with an extension lead which is feed over the top of the curtain rail and back down to the aerial all channels good reception. If you can find it all our TV's have a screen on the Menu for Signal strength and reception gives you a good idea of how well your aerial is working.

I Liked your video coz it was detailed, am in uganda and local tv signal is poor at the place i am, but am planning to buy it on ebay on $7 and i believe it will help me

Great video!! I did notice you only got half the HD channels , you were missing HD channels such as BBC News, 4HD+1, 4SevenHD, CBeebies HD, BBC4 HD... Which are all on a different multiplex, would of been interesting to see the aerial plugged into the labgear amplifier :-)

I use an August indoor aerial which is small and i have on my windowsill, works pretty good

A bit longwinded but very helpful. I have had water come down my coaxial from the roof aerial before, it is the kiss of death! A TV engineer once screwed off the TV input socket to demonstrate it, water was dripping from the coaxial

Used the roof aerial antenna with the plug in transformer amplifier will works the best.Easily getting 50% more channels than the indoor antenna even with the transformer amplifier booster plug in.

Good teaching video for the amateur TV (Telly) user. In America(Chicago) I get 83 channels with amplified indoor antenna.Wish I could get the BBC with an antenna here. I need cable for BBC America. You folks have to have a license from the government for TV or radio , so you pay for it as well in a way.

I have an amplified rabbit ears style aerial (that tbh, could do with replacing) that, with amplification is good for DAB radio, never actually tried it with digital TV! And does that flat aerial use the same technology that was in the original BSB Squarials? Just goes to show that BSB wasn't a total waste!

I'm about to connect it to PC Monitor with TV function. Its HDMI is already connected to desktop. Can I use it as TV simultaneously ?

antenna for nowaday are directional uhf antenna so if u buy this on get it high and point it at the direction of which the signal is comming from then do a search channel on the tv

Hi Vince . I have been watching your video for a while now but I do have a question regarding the timevery your using at 20:43 it looks like a Samsung. Basically I have exactly the same remote on my Samsung smart TV, but using this remote the menu in my smart TV is spook slow to respond the the remote . Do you have any ideas what could be causing this problem ?? Some times the menu pops up after 2-3 minutes after using the remote . Any ideas cheers . Great video btw

The big problem with aerial amplifiers is that they amplify the noise as much as the signal. To be most effective an amplifier must be at the aerial end of any connection.

Figured I'd clue the audience in on this, but you don't need a special "HD" or "digital" antenna to receive OTA TV. In theory the aerial could have been built in the 1950s as long as it is set to receive the frequencies used by television stations in your market. In the U.S. the VHF channel frequencies were set all the way back in 1946 so any antenna built since then will should work there.

In the USA there is a website which shows you the geography around you and which channels you are likely to receive. For example to get our local ABC Channel south of Seattle it has to be at least 10 feet high on a wall or outside your house. Some stations do not broadcast that far away, hence why Satellite Cable is good but the prices are ridiculous. Of course there is a sat box you can get with a 30inch Dish for around $200 USD which picks up lots of stations not just those from your own country.

Have never had any channels with my aerial I bought same as this. Moved it all round the room..

Part of the problem is you should never put an aerial so close to the TV it's obviously getting interference from the tv's internal electronics. When you moved a foot away it was already clear which probably would worked without the amp as well. Plane interference is probably because the airplane is using a VHF radio.

if i set up a aerials . see car going by car stop me getting tv i get a good picture but if car go by get no tv so get good picture car go by stop it working using a indoon aerial.

Very informative, can I get a wifi transmitter for my loft aerial as my televisions all have built in wifi. I think this would be a far better solution removing the need for down leads all over the house while using a high gain digital loft/roof aerial.

Funny thing is I'm not that far from NYC and my stations work better without the amplifier...I get more pixels when I used adapter and doesn't make sense but that's way it is..I have same brand antenna your using,it's on my window and surprisingly when I turn antenna sideways my channels are perfect...

Sometimes staff around you can affect your signals cars trains etc

IN germany we have no free HD TV anymore over the area. It is called Freenet TV but HDTV is Encrypted. Only some channels are free, but we have to pay also for them ;) All DVB-T2 H265

Yeah, in order to be a correct experiment you should tried to check how channels it would pick without any antenna.

Use good quality tv coax in weak areas.
