Thank you for sharing. I love simple, limited ingredient recipes. I almost always use honey in my body washes. I love it! It has helped my skin tremendously. Depending on if it's winter or summer I use coconut oil and fractionated coconut oil, as well.

Thank you for sharing mine did not work with table salt it would not dissolve it boiling hot water, which I thought was very weird. So I tried sea salt which worked much better. It started clumping after adding the Castile soap, so I used mixer. It was a little more watery than I thought but soaped up really well in the shower.

Hi Joanna! If you want to add some rubbing alcohol to it you could. Also natural preservatives are sold on Amazon if you'd like to try those. But I've not had it go bad, even after a month or so.
@theycallmekurn
@theycallmekurn 3 жыл бұрын
Since water and oil don't mix, you should use a preservative even though honey is a preservative on its own but not when mixed with many other ingredients. There are many natural preservatives that you can use (optiphen for example) because it can mold.

Can’t wait to try this recipe! I’m just now discovering Castile soap and all its uses! I was wondering how long this is good for sitting in the shower? I made a honey scrub before and realized after about a week it would get a different consistency so started making smaller batches. I was also wondering if it stays emulsified or tends to separate? I used to make hand soap and it would always separate from the water I could never get it to stay bonded. Thank you!

Hey! I do like this recipe, but when I used electric whisk. It ended up being a paste.. did I do something wrong?

Yeah I’ve never used an electric whisk to mix - perhaps it mixes it too much and then actually changes the chemical composition?

I made the shower gel for the first time. It was a little thin, and instead of waiting for it to thicken up on its own, I added more of the soap. I put it in a bottle. Unfortunately, a few hours later, it was way too thick. Can you tell me how (if possible) I can make the shower gel thinner. Your directions were great by the way.

Hi do you find that your liquid soap and liquid shampoo recipes separate a lot because the oil and water do not mix. I have even tried blending some of the recipes but they still separate. Even using honey and aloe vera do not seem to help emulsify. Any thoughts or tips? Love your channel. Learning so much.

I haven’t actually experienced that. Hmm do you happen to have hard water? Or is your house more on the chillier side?

Strange, I use distilled water. Home temp around 69 degrees.

It has water and oil, I wouldn’t use it longer than a couple weeks. Made the same mistake with my first DIY soap.

I love that oil, too! And also, I always thought others were wrong when they pronounced Ylang Ylang as ee-lang ee-lang but I just looked it up on dictionary.com and see I was wrong! Thanks for letting me know.
