I saw that you had the secondary for L4, but I'm curious if you do any secondaries for L3, L4 and S1? I remember there being a lot of debate of this in school

L1 is mainly cutaneous innervation, it gives the ilioinguinal nerve, femoral branch of genitofemoral n and lateral branch of iliohypogastric nerve

Thank you for the video!:) One question came to my mind: what is the instruction you give to the patient? "Don't let me move you or push it (the segment) into my hands"? I know this test is isometric but I'm confused with the instruction I need to give.
@Physiotutors
@Physiotutors 6 жыл бұрын
Yes, "don't let me move you" usually works.

Okay I'm pretty confused here. I thought we do myotome testing and with what we grade muscle strength according to Oxford MMT scale. Isn't it ? Or myotome testing and MMT testing different?
@Physiotutors
@Physiotutors 4 жыл бұрын
Agreed, what in the video confused you?
@jeffreyman8784
@jeffreyman8784 3 жыл бұрын
@@Physiotutors But how are we going to get the MMT score if we are doing isometric test? (There is no ROM) I thought we need the MMT score to document the myotome grading. Thanks a lot! The video is brilliant.

Tibialis anterior is not usually Myotome L4; it is usually L5 See: www.thieme-connect.com/products/ejournals/abstract/10.1055/s-2007-1018091

Thanks for the input. Most sources we consulted mention L4. Anyways, hardly any muscle is solely innervated by one single nerve root
