appreciate these videos and am very glad you mentioned "if we want to do a watch, do it". I am in a vintage pocket watch group on Facebook. I took my 1st 18s apart, got stuck a few times but in the end with patience and perseverance I got it to work again and as I didn't know 'till later all she needed was a stem replacement.

Thanks Mike, your finding lost parts resonates as we all do it, and I seem to find lost parts from old projects every time! (Thank God for spare fhf parts) I work on a Waltham as I watch, mine has a centre second hand, but similar to yours, marked ST. Clear jewels are not uncommon in fhf, same thing, but different. Well played sir, best hobby ever.❤

Hi Mike what a great result, the watch looks amazing well done. I am a beginner and have been watching some of your other videos and find them them really very good with great advice offered for the hobbyist. I also have a few old vintage watches which I now want to try and restore and will be following your methods as best I can. In relation to crystal replacement as I don't have a box of these like you have I will need to find new ones for my project. It would be very useful for you to do a video going through the process of how to select a generic replacement crystals for vintage watches from a site such as Cousins taking into account all the considerations such as measurements, materials and styles etc. Keep up the good work.

Nice job despite the shock spring panic, and you have a nice clean bench and floor and a spare diashock! I've not seen jewels that smoked colour but lots of 50's Swiss have clear end stones and pallets. Clear end stones are great for seeing the oil circle. For the auto oiler I oil the end stone and chaton as a unit on the bench mat then fit. The oil droplet keeps them attached. Another nice restoration.

@@MyRetroWatches they can be yes but with the auto oiler. I always do a close inspection to make sure the oil drop is sufficient and a clear cap jewel makes that really easy. I'd be interested to see more stuff about the hummers as I really know nothing about them.

Oh yes for the Accurist m8, I have quietly been gathering old Accurist bits and pieces and Rotary as well as they both have outstanding build and quality levels. One of my Accurist's has a right proper ETA quartz in it and that is a movement good enuff for an Omega. Today's haul for mine is three quartz, a Peterwerth monster rectangle, a Lorus divers watch with torch and backlit dial and a Ben Nevis "turtle" homage watch from Aliexpress... which looks a lot like the Seiko, if I can fix the janky bezel click I might be happier as its sloppier than a spaniel eating a toffee :P Got an even bigger watch incoming called a Qmax which is a hex shaped monster at 60mm on the widest bit, that's gonna be heavy man lol I wore my Indian Ricoh for a couple of days and it is flawless, thanks for re-inspiring me to try out the Bombay Bad Boys again, the Reamer er Roamer is pretty good but that Ricoh is a delight to wear.

I have done one of these and try a sharp pocket knife on the bezel. Just push it in and the thickness of the knife just pushes it up gently. No chance of a screwdriver mark. These FHF movements are bulletproof and really take a cleaning well. All the ones I have worked on came out and ran well enough, and there are still standard parts pretty readily available. You're right. They are fairly easy to work on and nice ones like that come out great!
@MyRetroWatches

Thanks, I should have used a knife you are right. Didnt want to bleed on camera or slip and scratch the dial.. This is my second venture into a FHF movement, the first being in my Mumbai special video. Quite impressed with the simplicity but durability. These would keep going forever if maintained correctly. Thank you for watching.
