The hands must be replaced with genuine Seiko hands. You may use ones that are a bit aged to keep the authentic look . Keeping those hands makes the watch look busted rather than vintage

The finishing lets this watch down badly which is a shame as most of it is down to carelessness. Better standards in the factory would not cost significantly more in production costs, just a little more staff discipline. Their ethos seems to be - 'Does it look OK to a blind man on a galloping horse'.

Hi, I have a JAZ watch with LEDs, bur the pusher to make time appear does not work ! As it is used as well to set the time, I cannot even adjust the time. It is a pity, and I am afraid there can't be lots of people able to repair it.

How can I Find best A omega dial for A seamaster cosmic from the 1970’s 🧐

I have a Seiko quartz dive watch (7548-700F) that I bought around 1980. A few years later I took it back to the store to have the battery replaced. The guy said the watch had to go back to Seiko since it would need a full service (O-rings, etc.). Several weeks passed before the watch was returned. I don’t remember the exact cost except that it was bloody expensive. Now, there is a ring around the outer edge of the dial that has thin individual minute marks with a thicker mark at each 5-minute interval (it probably has a proper horological name). The first thing I noticed was that the ring was incorrectly positioned; the thick marks were one minute past the batons of the dial. I didn’t want to lose the watch for another several weeks, so I decided to live with it. But it has frustrated me ever since. So, having done a tiny amount of work on manual watches from Rotate Watch Kits here in Los Angeles, I’m planning to strip the Seiko down to see if I can rectify the situation. I couldn’t get the back off using a rubber ball, so I’ve ordered a watch case removal tool from Amazon that should arrive today. Hopefully, the damn ring isn’t glued to the face!

@@nitennr1087 I can’t live without mine. Don’t buy the double lens ones because they stick out too much. When using the higher power usually the lens arm hits the movement holder ! They are plastic but fit well and the best solution. I don’t know how I cope before !

Lovely watch. Thanks for all the effort put into making the video. I recon it must be a pain in the rear to work on a watch with all that filming equipment in the way. Definitively restore that case brother, it will still be vintage, just not beat up like it was owned by someone who got it as a gift and didn’t even like watches to begin with.

Love your channel, and this is your best yet!! What a lovely watch and story to go with it. The Willard, as you say, is all over the internet watch world, due to the Steeldive homage (I'm waiting for mine to arrive :). Personally, I love the fact that you kept the original hands & some of the funk on this 6105. It makes it a more tasteful restoration. Cheers!

So this I plan to film despite never working on one. I don’t know if this one will run at all so that is the worry. Also doing a video now on a citizen Hisonic which is really a 218 but it’s in a hell of a state. Stay turned for both coming soon

The Hangzhou 7 series are the base calibes that are used to make rolex clones, the forgers usualy put the 2 adjustment levers on the back or clip them and decorate them to look like rolex, dandong makes similar movements but the quality is worse. I think these are amazing movements but I wish they had micro adjust like on eta movements or the hz5000. Hangzhou is the best movement manufacturer in China and they make the best ETA clones, I have a hz6300 (2824 clone) and it's more accurate than even my eta 2824 cosc movement. HKpt5000 is in second place Avoid most seagull eta clones as they are not piled and avoid dandong clones as the QC is awfull. I love these affordable 4hz movements especially the miyota 9 series, sure it can be noisy but a little silicone oil on the rotor and it's fine, 50 dollars or so in bulk, very accurate when regulated but I wish they had a micro adjust. I hope they come up with more affordable accurate 4hz or 4hz+ movements, the spring drive patents are expired so a company could clone them. As for 3hz movements I prefer the s Epson (Orient) YN55 over the nh35 and miyota 8x15 as its very reliable, the materials are great, accurate and actually made in Japan unlike the NH3X series. It would be nice if a Chinese movement manufacturer made a 18,000bph auto and habdwinder for vintage or seiko changed their meccaquartz so it had 5 ticks instead of 4. The Seiko mecaquarrz movements are great but unless it is the sibsecobds varient then it looks very off as it ticks slower than a 18,000bph so the sweep looks off. Great review
