WHat a great video. Kondaurova is an amazing Myrta and one of my favorite Mariinsky ballerinas. Absolutely gorgeous!!! The corps de ballet is great in this as well.

@DreamsontheWater She is given more roles. She's already regular Odette/Odile, Nikiya, she also dances Medora, Carmen, Anna Karenina and did both female leads in Spartacus. This year can bring more major roles and even promotion.

Kondaurova is exquisite. Her dancing is so pure and elegant. When, oh, when is she going to be promoted and given more roles? And I *love* the music in Giselle act II - it is so beautiful in places, that it makes me wish that *I* could dance to it on stage.

I agree completely about Obraztsova. I'm happy that she's a principal now, and dancing more, but the 'ideal situation', in my opinion, would have been if she had been made a Mariinsky principal. She seems more of a Mariinsky dancer than a Bolshoi dancer, to me.

@Leonnidik haha no im not =) I just prefer them to be pale for giselle. just a preference. the tan girl danced beautifully too, but it looks very out of place when you are supposed to be "dead" in a ballet. but I dont really have to explain myself, because it is just an opinion. and I am a really nice person =)

@looovecats thanks! =) it just doesn't fit in with this certain ballet, just like swan lake =) its like you know how some ballet are balchony ballets, and you should sit in the balchony for them, some ballet are like pale ballets too. im probably not making sence haha.

@Qbendanny its an opinion... most dancers who are stars of giselle are pale, its a fact. Deal. and I am grown. Im six feet, and ballet is my life, and its just what I think. It doesn't mean I hate tan people.. it means I dont think in the ballet Giselle they should be visibly tan, unless they are black, then its fine =) haha but like in Don Que... then tan fits in better.

This is ridiculous. Check out Tatiana Terekhova as Myrtha flying on stage and doing six de volee! Today ballet is in decay.

tan girls shouldnt be a part of giselle... period.

This was one of the worst version of Myrtha and Wilis! The music wasn't on the rythm, Myrtha was flying in the air and some of the Wilis were absolutely out of the rythm as well!
