Riven, to me, remains the best in the series and one of the greatest sequels ever to grace mankind. The sheer IMAGINATION on display there - from pure artistry of the visuals to puzzle design - is simply unbelievable. No other Myst game captured that elusive sense of wonder and sheer grandness of the world. Just thinking about Riven makes me want to play it again. Very happy to see Myst still has so many devoted fans!

Because of this video, I supported them on kickstarter. I have never seen anything as deserving as this kickstarter. I grew up with these games and they did a lot more then just entertain me. They inspired me, they taught me problem solving and analytical thinking. I would not be the same person today without these games. I know this may be hard to believe but these games opened my eyes, made the impossible...possible. I use to day dream, in school, about the events of the games and what would come next. You guys can re-release as many times as you want for years to come, I will always back it up. Myst was very revolutionary for its time, and I happened to catch onto it at the right age. Dated or not, it's a piece of gaming history that deserves to be preserved for generations to come.

Just pledged. This series is very near and dear to me. The visuals, the story, and especially the music, they combine into a perfect storm of living to higher ideals. Even the setup for Uru Online was how I pictured heaven.

I'm proud to say I backed this on Kickstarter the moment I saw it and am eagerly awaiting my Linking Book! I am such a fan of the series, in fact, that I developed a real-world example of a technique in management science using the rocket ship generator puzzle! My professor liked it so much he is using it as part of the curriculum! Naturally, full credit is given to the Cyan team in the problem and I took ownership of nothing. It is my sincere hope that I'm able to inspire the next generation of inquisitive young minds to explore one of the greatest Myst-eries of my generation.

Dang it! I was all geared up to buy the Gravity Falls blu-ray collection, but I'm darned if I'm going to miss out on supporting my favorite videogame (and videogame series) of all time. In all seriousness, I am so glad Cyan was able to wrestle the licences away from Ubisoft for 3 and 4. True, they aren't the best games in the series (Riven obviously being the absolute best and personally my favorite game of all time), but they are a part of an unforgettable saga that I will never forget and really, Cyan are the only ones who I feel truly showed the potential of videogames to transport you to a completely different world, which is the ability of videogames I hold in the highest regard. And not even questionable decisions on Ubisoft's end could completely negate that feeling of awe and wonder you get when you touch the image on a linking panel, the almost tear-wrenching whimsicalness of the beautifully crafted worlds that still looked real enough to make you feel like you could just walk through your computer screen, and every image, breathtaking, capturing the imagination and telling it to soar to the skies. I have just enough money for the inkwell. Cyan, I owe my deep passion of videogames to you, and I truly hope to see more games from you in the future. Obduction was great, and no one makes Myst-style games as good as you.

I have every game still. The 5 CD Riven is on my dresser lol. They don't work anymore on my new stuff, and I'd love to play them again. I'm so happy to hear this, I think I just may have went nuts.

I'm currently playing Riven on my PS1. The atmosphere is amazing! My aunt used to play the Myst series. I remember her playing Myst and I was playing Mario on my grandpa's NES. I wanted so badly to play Myst. Still don't have a PC 😔. Very lucky the games came to home consoles. That Myst book from the Kickstarter is amazing. Anyone lucky enough to afford that I'm very envious. I picture myself going to a mall or airport and pulling that giant book out and playing Myst. Seeing how many people recognize what I'm playing.

I was 5 years old & LOVED watching my dad play this. I didn’t understand the game... I just loved the music, and the talking guys in the books 🤣

To this day Myst and Riven are some of the most memorable games I've played, and the prospect of experiencing the unique atmosphere of all the games and soaking up the beautiful visuals again is exciting. Will not hesitate to back this!

If I hadn't just finished college and had no money I would totally back this. I really love Myst 4 but my computer updated from windows 7-10 before I finished the game and I never got to finish. Hope the backing goes well on this.

I've loved Myst since I bought the original on Sega Saturn (which still works perfect: started taking my friends through the series recently!!) and have continued to love it through all the years, buying every game nearly the day they came out, which is something I rarely do. And Obduction was a delightful treat that revealed that Cyan can work magic even when it can't rely on the nostalgic source that made them famous. And as I've grown older, I've learned more about Cyan as a company, and I love their business practices, from their illiciting long-time fans to help make Myst 5 to their releasing the source for Myst Online to the community. In fact, Cyan is one of my go-to counter-examples to compare against AAA BS practices, especially for my friends who are looking to make their own indie game companies (of which I have a surprising number. So yeah: supporting a company I love to help make games that I love for some swag I'm going to love? Somah zoo fe! (loosely translated: Sign me up)

I know the series was supposed to end with 5 but damn another myst game would be incredibly epic. The linking books, the puzzles, the worlds, the lore are the best and beautiful parts of this franchise I’d buy it in a heartbeat.

Being able to play Riven without glitches, crashes, virtual machines, or CDs? Yes!

It's just great, I loved the first two games but I could never play "Exile" because I couldn't get it to work on any of my computers. I'm so looking forward to it, but just a favor. Will we have the French language? At least subtitles. As French, I have a little trouble understanding English dialogues. You can perhaps ask Ubisoft, it is this editor which was in charge of the French versions of Myst 3, 4, and 5.

I'd love it if all the games in the Myst series was updated like the first one.

I own the original releases of all of the games but have never been able to play Revelation due to Ubisoft's formatting issues with the discs at the time. I've been waiting and hoping it would have a re-release someday, and now, finally, it will happen. so much happiness right now.

When he started speaking, he sounded just like the actor who voiced ARTHUR in THE JOURNEYMAN PROJECT 3 : JOURNEY THROUGH TIME.

I have gotten every Myst game to work on at least a Windows 7 machine (x64) with a Core i3 and no special graphics card. Granted, it took some work with manually copying older QuickTime files, but its doable. That being said, I will probably still get the bundle for posterity.

When I saw the whole, “This isn’t your father’s Myst” thing I was actually shook- not figuratively, but literally. I got goosebumps. I remember watching my dad play that when I was like 3.... It was one of the most amazing things I ever saw and from then on I was obsessed with video games. I haven’t bought it yet, cause I’m a little scared to be let down lmaoooo but I love HerInteractive (they’re selling it for some reason), soooooo.... 🤷🏻‍♀️

I'd hope that those of us who already own these games on Steam and/or GOG (aside from III and IV which aren't presently available) will get the updated versions via a free patch or upgrade. Nonetheless, VERY tempted to get the Myst book copy, if only I weren't so strapped for cash right now.

I don't know about other players, but I considered Myst to be a horror game. That whole aspect of being isolated on a deserted island made me always anticipate something would pop out.

... Now how did Atrus make a laptop from old D'ni tech? Also, has he not tried to knock down some walls in his little "prison?" And we all know he's down below in New Mexico. We just need to discover where they kept the prisoners.

So Myst is the same age as me, cool. I've got it on the PlayStation though. Myst III: Exile is my favourite. :P

Heh.... I love these games.... I love the minds of the Miller Brothers. Though if I were to beg Rand to say something, it'd be... "Thank God, you've returned. I need your help!" Much as I'm a horror game fanatic, Silent Hill being my favorite game ever, Riven's right there next to it. It says a lot when I play predominantly scary stuff. :D I'd love to shake these guys' hands and say 'Thank you' for helping me unlock my own creativity.

My main memory of the Myst was Uru. Back when they honestly thought people would pay monthly for the privilege. Then it went F2P and I managed to complete it with random's help before people stopped playing that game too.

To the backers of this project... good luck. Their Obduction "boxed edition" was nothing more than a DVD slipcase with a hole in it.
