Oh I loved that. Thanks Sam and Hedley....I've always been so in awe of Avebury. I spent the night there too, within the stone circle, for the Winter Solstice. Incidentally, my partner, and a friend, both said that they felt a spirit in the pub there. Anyway, thanks for posting Sam 😊

Thanks Adrian! Glad you liked it! I've been in the pub before, didn't notice anything put of the ordinary. In the Long Barrow however... there was something, I felt.

@@SamWalksALot Oh really? It's been a while since I've been in the Long Barrow....I look forward to re-visiting. If memory serves me right, I recall archaeologists discovering that bodies were dismembered, and certain parts of the skeletons were found stored in separate chambers of the barrow ie skulls in one chamber, legs in another etc. Ps the pub featured on an episode of Most Haunted a few years back....I shall look it up.

@adrianbryan5941 according to the information board outside, the bodies were intact, except for a couple of random skulls... I shall look the pub up the next time, I'd really like to reshoot the video one day, properly this time

Hi Sam, I liked the way you edited and narrated from the car, that worked really well. The scenes from the long barrow were amazing. Shame you didn't get the weather you hoped for but I enjoyed watching very much. I don't think you will forget this one in a long time All the best!!

Brilliant stuff, especially the interior of the W Kennet long barrow - which must have been a welcome refuge from the elements. Too wet for the Devil to ride out so I don't think you can blame him/her for your microphone jinx. Well done for persevering in such conditions. It was very atmospheric and the stones certainly looked even more mysterious in the dark - when probably, in ancient times, there would have been pagan ceremonies of various kinds. Very enjoyable video. You should do more - in the dark!

Thanks Malcolm. I know that the audio wasn't the best, but worth showing, it was very atmospheric. I won't blame the devil or spirits this time 😂 I'll do more in the dark, so much fun!

What a coincidence. I was walking from the circle to the barrow and the heavens opened up on me at Silbury Hill. I was closer to the barrow than my inn at the circle so on I went. I ran up the hill just getting pummelled by wind and rain. Had to hide in the barrow for a half hour or so. It came in handy!

I have to say this one made my heart ache a little. Especially the trees. Those beeches are very special to me. I know why Tolkien felt the way he did. I tied my ribbon years ago.

Hi Sam, Did you find out why u tube seem to be deleting my comments? Remember l said to you a few month ago my comments were disappearing. At the time l.thought maybe l upset you but this has happened to me before on other channels and utube has denied it. After the other channel contacted utube they stopped doing it on there platform . Anyway l hope l will be able to comment in the future. Hope the weather is nice where you are ? Italy is so beautiful with so much history. cheers P.
