With the cards stacked against us we headed offshore from Pacific Fins resort in Guatemala in hopes of catching grouper slow pitch jigging. Deep sea fishing in Guatemala usually consist of trolling for Mahi Mahi, Sailfish, or Marlin. We asked the captain to do something out of his comfort zone and allow us to drop a slow pitch jig. Finding structure proved to be challenging but it all paid off in the end. This was a truly epic day for all of us.

Way to go guys. Fishing in that type of fishery with no transducer and you all got it done. Great groupers, mahi, and sailfish. Will, way to go!! Chris and Johnny rocks it too!!!!

It's always awesome to get tuned in at a new fishing destination and there is something magical about it. It is like getting your first boat and finding the fish on your own. The feeling of accomplishment is just epic!

I bottom fished Costa Rica back in Jan and caught a few grouper that looked exactly like the ones caught here . I also thought they were Snowy. Did you all ever get a positive ID?
