Mystic Coin prices have continuously been going up, and now cost more than 2 gold a piece. This has quite an impact on crafting legendary items, unlocking certain skins and achievements, but could also make you a really good amount of gold.
You can guarantee getting 17 Mystic Coins per week from strikes and the Legendary Ley-Line Anomaly, and pad the amounts by partaking in World vs World or structured PvP tournaments. Not all methods pay off equally for the effort involved, though... and as per usual, there's a few others ways to obtain some more, but those are subject to RNG. Thank god the Wizard's Vault is there for anyone who needs more than they can buy right now.
Getting coins is only part of the equation... you should also learn how to spend less of them, without necessarily having to postpone your goals...

Worth pointing out - if you need mystic coins for mystic clovers, dont buy coins for green prophet shards, buy clovers directly.

found your channel today and absolutely love the vids, Ive been using fast farming for years and always like to minmax so your videos fit perfectly :D Edit: the transition sound in this video is a bit annoying tho, maybe it's a bit loud ^^

Awesome and thank you! I'll try reducing the transition volume a bit going forward, I've increased the amount of transitions (which seems to be doing well), but I gotta maybe tone it down then. Thank you for the feedback!

if clovers are the goal, another thing are the wvw n pvp 1 time reward tracks - iirc the drizzelwood gives 11 mystic clovers, n other one time tracks give like 7 or 5. repeatables only give 2 clovers but are (as mentioned) repeatable. additionally the last chest of the drizzelwood reward track (the donate to whatever faction) also gives 2 clovers at the end iirc not mystic coin specific but hopefully helpful for anyone going for coins to get clovers also dont forget in 20 some odd days we should get another batch of clovers n coins - n price might drop for that following month briefly before skyrocketing again. may be worth waiting for! edit: oh phandrelalready mentioned the price drop after vault update XD

its still a bit of a drag, but one can also basically exchange ancient ambergris for mystic coins at this point and still have minor gains. One can easily fish out about 10 or even more legendary fish per hour with maxed EOD masteries on fishing and skiff, which then equals 10 ambergris per hour which equals possibly 10 or 11 mystic coins per hour. In addition to exchanging 50 ascended fish meat for 5 extra ambergris from fishing npc once per day.

if you have not done Season Of Dragons, the chests at the end of each map gives you 6 mystic coins, so far, i think i have got around 80 and i still have a few maps to complete. worth doing imo

was that their intent to have the prices skyrocket when they removed the old daily login system? if not why don't we ask them to add more ways to get the coins similar to what they did with rune of holding.

I actually think they made them more publicly accessible if you look at the whole process. Although it's far from perfect. Before, the main ways to get em was the login rewards and fractal CMs, I'd need to do the numbers, but i believe we get more of them now than before - or in larger chunks, at least. Despite all that, they've been a rather exclusive currency throughout the years, though.

@@phandrel what I imagine the problem is that people used to create alt accounts to login daily on each of them and generate the coins, now that they replaced that system it has become more work to get the coins rather than simply logging in and that caused the scarcity in them.

@ashnemo2718 I think you're right on the money and the new system put a lid on that, indeed. I'd love to get a weekly farmable achievement that caps out (kind of like drizzlewood donations, but without the extra steps in between).

The reward chest gives you one coin when completing the event (once per day)

I already told people that ANET removing Mystic Coin off fractal CM drops, and removal of login rewards will crash the supply and it will balloon to hell but people clowned on it. I guess they will make another MC faucet for next expansion. So you should sell whatever MC you have left now.

Since I need them for crafting, I'll be a buyer if prices stabilize :P But yeah, the way MC were handled definitely raises some questions.

MC grind burned me out, gotta take a break until the next update. Its painful sinking hundreds and hundreds of gold into this one resource.

Yeah, that's indeed a rough one. The vault kinda mitigates it partially but definitely doesn't fully cover the need for coins.

I think making clover on mystic forge is a waste. With most vendor you ger 1 clover per 2 coins, and with forge you get 1 clover per 3 coins. Yes in forge you get some materials but they are at best 10-20s and you lose extra coin for 2g.

Yes, but all the cheaper Clover methods are limited in amounts per week/season. If you need more Clovers than that, your only option is to forge them or pay Lyhr even MORE than the forging cost.

As Sheena indicated, the limited nature of the 2 coins of those vendors could be a hurdle. I guess this could be mitigated by purchasing weekly maximums, though. The moment you go to Lyhr/Miyani, it's definitely better to forge. for 2% less chance, you get something in return, which (to me) seems more than worth it.

I mean you make any leggy for a few weeks at least. I bet its a rare case when you end up having everything but mystic clovers for your leggy. Clearly forge is better then Lynx, but still clovers go from 5g to 7g if you use forge over 2 coin vendors.

@@incosto6036 I know players who make a legendary every week or so, and the clover drain is immense. They might not be super numerous, but they're out there.

@@incosto6036 very fair point, also more of an attestation of my habits to postpone getting clovers until the end :).
