I always feel sad watching those old houses and castles ..and start thinking about their lives and things they owned ..than you realize so strong ...you come with nothing and go with nothing ..

In front of the gold fireplace is a, ‘tapestry screen.’ These were embroidered decorative screens not meant for directing heat, but rather for covering up, in a decorative way, the gaping mouth of an empty fireplace. 💙

It amazes me how people can just abandon places like these. It's so beautiful!

In the first bedroom the four upholstered armless chairs can be called “boudoir” chairs for a lady’s bedroom, sitting room or dressing room.

This was an amazing explore. I believe that room upstairs with the sink and table was a laundry room, especially evident from the bedding in the cupboards.

Wonderful Leslie. Gosh, I wish somehow we could go back in the time, maybe just 10-15 years or so. The stairlift, the security sensors all over the basement. This place was truly grand in the early 1900’s . Somehow you amaze the family leaving this mansion in the middle of nowhere at around 1967. Someone stayed or took over until approximately 2014 ( probably a family connection) . Wonderful tour Leslie. Thank You

Stunning house , they were a successful & rich family. The ceilings are amazing, that bedroom is like a film set with old style. Your way of filming & presenting has always been great , showing respect for the family. It is sad to see it wasting away. This happens alot in Italy. We still have Great Grandfathers house in Italy , they made wine too. The house not near as grand as this of course. Fireplace screens had dual purpose of being decorative and shielding those in the room from direct heat that could be too intense but also if the fire was open there would be small embers or sparks escaping that could cause damage to floors, rugs, walls, etc.

What a wonderful tour of an active family from years past, Kind Thanks! The piece in front of the fire place is called a fire screen. It kept the extreme heat from getting too hot for someone close. It always seems a shame to see these grand places falling down. But when we think of thousands of years past, we see little of it. And the simple homes are as interesting and important as the fancy ones. As my Grandfather used to say, "In a hundred years no one will know a thing about it" . Meaning of course that we often make a big deal out of things that aren't so terrible. Just living with it ups and downs. But really, we learn from the hard times and not the best ones. Love it. This story brought tears onto my eyes as I travelled around Sicily and saw similar houses there. What is especially touching are those, I would say, "museum" kind of baths, silent piano, and wooden window frames. Watching this video I also liked comments about sense of life and why life is so precious. It has given me an idea to suggest this channel to my friends one more time. Looks like throughout years you do this exploring, a simple courioucity has transformed if not to a mission but to a kind of philosophy.

Hi Lesley, Bros of Decay, Already the start of the video showed once more the exceptional quality, when you were giving with your wonderful voice a very poetic introduction of the actual explore. - Very well made, - I always enjoy your beginnings! Compared with a good meal, they are the entree. - And of course the wonderful "main course" - the mystical mansion of the wine producing family Giovanni itself, was again so exciting and interesting to watch. The huge wine barrels in the cellar are absolutely impressive. - Some of the rooms still were containing beautiful furniture. - I also liked the wonderful ceilings with the elaborate decorations. - But of course that very special bedroom, where you ended the video with your outro, was a real banger. - So beautiful! - The "dessert" was the finale in the attic, which also was very interesting to see, especially that antique bath tub. - Wonderful video, which I very much enjoyed watching, my dear friend! - Greetings also to your adorable brother Jordy! - I hope to see you both once in a while again, when this Corona craziness is finally over. - So, lets just hope for the best! These Italian manors are so graceful yet simple and practical in structure. I love how in addition to being remote, the intelligent use of landscape and trees to hide them even more, perhaps from robbers. I also really appreciate the lack of excessive patterns, upon patterns at every corner I've notice in other great houses. Some of these homes are grand but gaudy.

If we believe in Jesus who forgives us our sins, then heaven will be our permanent home. only loved ones and friends are eternal with us in heaven if they believe in Jesus as savior. The screen in front of the fireplace is just that. Fireplace screen. They always had covers for the top of their dressers. Some were crocheted and others were just a cloth runner with embroidery. My grandmother and even my mom used them. Thank you for your efforts🌹😊😊🤗

This place is so OLD! It's so rustic for a family of wealth. I always wonder were they cooked?? Even if lived there until the 60s??

There is a reason why we are ALL here! We have a purpose. When we die the material part of our lives remain but memories never die. When we leave this earth we take with us all the love the experiences the people we met spoke to etc! Our lives are not a waste it is the essence of the manifestation of our true selves, our consciousness will elevate to a higher frequency where peace and love infinitely exists! So I believe you must know LOVE here ON earth in order to be able to experience it at a higher level with our Maker! I believe whatever good we did remains upon the earth as a cleansing. To take things for granted is to neglect the power of our mind and true potential! Just because our flesh dies does not mean our consciousness dies! It lives forever!
