George said to Catherine, Everyone is smiling, Charlotte cleaned the carriage window of fog to see and be seen and Louis flew off the steps. All children and Catherine got worried because the crowd got lashed by heavy rain before balcony sighting. The children know their duty and love grandfather.

I believe Catherine and the children were just fine, but they didn’t like people getting wet just to see them. It was weather related.

I don’t think the lack of family members on the balcony was due to excluding the Royal relations but to protect Catherine and King Charles from being in contact with too many others. Both their immune systems are compromised and are especially vulnerable whilst undergoing their respective treatments. Small children carry every bug and germ imaginable; Eugenie has her two sons, Beatrice has her daughter, neither of whom are working Royals. Zara and Mike have their little tribe of tykes, as well and Andrew shouldn’t be seen on the balcony again - ever.

Agree. And I guess we all have had moments as children when we HAD to attend something in the family, and then we got cake, and the nice dress got dirty, and everything was good ☺

Only the working royals have been on the balcony for a few years now. King Charles has for many, many years now spoken of trimming down the number of working Royals so I seriously do not expect others to be added until Prince William becomes the Monarch.

Princess Charlotte was a gem. My first thought when I saw her in the carriage was how happy she looked. Very, very happy in fact they all did. And the beautiful photo of Prince William looking into Princess Catherine’s eyes and her laughing you can’t fake that.

The kids may have been reflecting Catherine’s apprehension. There is usually more lightness and joy when they appear. But, they haven’t been out since Christmas and have been living with this cancer thing hanging over their heads for the last six months. They were all so serious and may have been worried and feeling protective of their mom. If we did thought bubbles over their heads, George would have been thinking, “ this blows”. They did great considering where Catherine is in her cancer journey. I bet they are all relieved that this first appearance is behind them now.

I think the children did fabulously. It was a big day with lots going on and I thought their behaviour exemplary considering their ages and the spotlight they were under. William & Catherine, IMO, are doing a great job of allowing them to be children whilst on the world stage at times. The affection in the family is wonderful to see.

Agreed! Trooping is/ was a working Royals event. QEII previously made it so. It is historically a very important official occasion. Not a family party.

I noticed that Prince George is very observant. When his parents were looking at each other, he looked at them attentively. He must be like his father, HRH Prince William in many ways like being attentive, caring, respectful and dutiful. As the eldest of the three siblings, I sense he has a weight on his shoulders wanting to protect his mother too especially when she is not well.

Just like all children that get dragged around by their parents to different celebrations (albeit on a much smaller scale) they dress up, they have to behave, and do as they are told. Just like we did when little. Its a good teaching lesson that life isnt all playtime.

The lip reader report that Louise said to Catherine during the parade pointing to the people watching, cheering for them, "they look so happy mom!" Maybe they are aware of the trolls did to their mom and comments about them. They are nervous, bored like any kids would feel.

From what i saw of the trooping, princess Catherine looked a little tired and moved tentatively. The children looked concerned about their mum. The Wales ' did get a huge boost from the outpouring of love from the crowds. Nice to see Catherine back in the limelight! Dare i say,someone was probably curled up in bed with a box of wine and ten baguettes! 😉

The rain that fell means spirit cleansing. Washing out the old. Look how the dark cloud was over the castle then all of a sudden the sun shone over the castle. There was like a bright ora around the Wales family and KIng Charles and a bright ora over the castle. It was a blessing to see.

Andrew has his fault he and his daughters should be on the balcony. Many years ago a prophecy came out the royal is only to be a handful and also the royal fam are going to go bankrupt in the near future. I think the bankruptcy this person saw is Harry.

It's only working royals that can be on the balcony. That's protocol. The children looked happy at certain points, it's not easy for children to be attentive all through the event.

Catherine, the POW and the children were inside watching through a window. I'm sure they could go to the toilet, have a snack, and have some time out whilst KC3 & Queen Camilla, their dad, Anne, and Edward were out doing their thing. So not quite a church service IMO.

The children, in reality attend very few official things so we would not have seen much of them anyway. If they do do something, its age appropriate and usually in school holidays. The children were serious because they are gettin older and know how to to behave appropriately at these events. A credit to their parents and hopefully, one day to their country.

From the way their faces lit up as the carriage pulled into the parade they looked so thrilled for their Mom. I can't even imagine the din from the crowd as she was seen for the first time. The children were quite impressed.

They are kids. And they have dealt with horrifying instances in the last six months, and even adults would get freaked out about their grandfather AND the mother having cancer. Other than Louis, they realize that these are serious circunstances indeed. Not surprising that they weren't jumping for joy. Plus, they had no choice.

Thanks Shanta. I'm sure the kids have enjoyed being off "royal duties" but also know that it's part of being the RF. They are beautiful children and so well mannered. They probably kept it small on the balcony since H&M weren't invited. Why give them another reason to whine about being excluded when Andrew et al were included and they aren't working royals

Lady Louise UNHAPPY. She is adult enough to know her own mind. She is a very gracious, shy young lady and is supporting her parents and grandfather on a very important day. I wouldn't been surprised if she asked to be included, as she is not officially a 'working royal' in the true sense (although a great support and asset obviously).

I actually thought the children and Catherine looked really happy from all the pictures I saw. I saw lots of smiles and interactions with the children. I think Catherine had to go for the sake of the children.

Louis was dancing in the window when the bands were playing. Charlotte was keeping track of Louis and helping Mom. George was stoic. Catherine smiled alot. Too few people on balcony. Maybe to keep away from ill people.

Thank you for another great reading, Shanta =). I think that three hours is long for young children; so it makes sense that they were bored at times. I think that they did have some moments of fun as well though; they were smiling and waving in the carriage, and they seemed to be enjoying that. As they get older; they will be more interested in all the nuances of these celebrations I think. It was so glorious for all of us to see Princess Catherine and all of the British Royal Family looked amazing =). The Yorks cannot be trusted, and it is for working Royals only to be on the balcony. Plus, they have to keep Princess Catherine safe; and protected germ wise as well.

When they first came out on the balcony, I noticed they ALL looked unhappy. All the royals, not just the kids. Princess Catherine did a lot of smiling and chatting with the King. Then I watched some KZfaq videos with pictures of them smiling. The King looked so emotional. I definitely noticed the tension. Something definitely happened before they went.

Charles has deleted so many of the adult royal family (whichever ones you choose to elaborate on) and the weight is left on those children's shoulders to take up the slack...I have a lot of admiration for Charles in many ways especially organics and environment, but PR wise he has always been off and vulnerable (why else hasn't he dealt with Harry and the other one). William made it clear through the Garden Party that he will bring in the wider family again for celebratory events which does not mean the taxpayer has to carry them.

Remember both the king and Princess Catherine are both still going through chemotherapy and their immunity is very low more acceptable to infections so it's best they don't mix with a crowd of people there bodies have enough to cope with without getting infections on top of the chemotherapy I just hope that people will leave princess Catherine alone know to fully recover and only come back when she's fully healed ❤

I think fewer people = fewer germs. William was next to Catherine, who was next to the king, who was next to the queen, and then there was spacing, and I think it’s all to keep everyone safe healthwise.

Which child would enjoy being bored for such a long time, I remember going shopping with my mum and standing listening to her talking to her friend for ages and feeling bored and would have rather be with my friends, so it’s only natural for a child.

Thanks Shanta. I think since Haz and Andrew antics its now only working Royals on the balcony. Shame as it use to be great to see them all. I too thought the balcony was a bit strange. Like they couldnt get out of there fast enough. Camilla was hussling KC off. Could be the family were all worried about POW and KC getting tired. Even the fly by seemed to go fast. Not the normal excitement. Was all about duty and i totally understand. Was lovely yo see Catherine. Just hope she wasnt pushed to attend after all the vile rumours which just wont stop.

The kids live an idyllic life in the country most days and what kids don't want their mom at home when they come in from school. In spite of her illness the kids have had her there all to themselves, cookies and all. And I think Catherine is trying to set some boundaries and not be the family show pony in terms of work. The rest of the family weren't there due to risk of infection to Catherine as I understand it.

From what I have seen of Anne, she wanted to be “off to the side” because this was her brother’s day and possibly his last Trooping of the Colors.

I think there were fewer royals at the palace due to Princess Catherine and King Charles chemotherapy. Protecting them from being exposed to germs etc.

I think the balcony was appropriate. Andrew and that bunch aren’t working royals. Nor are Zara and Mike. If the king lets them up there, wouldn’t that open the door to allow the Harkles. If anything, I think it shows they are protecting themselves from Harkle mud slinging. Remember, the Harkles are crying why can Sarah monetize but they can’t? We don’t want to open that door. More importantly, the queen stated “no half in and half out”. So the ones on the balcony are the ones that deserve to be because they put in the hard work!

I personally feel that Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie are not working royals yet thus they are not on the balcony. Those on the balcony are working royals. No reason for the two princesses and their father to be there especially when it was stated last year that only working royals will appear on the balcony.

I don't think Charles or William trust the York girls. Lady Louise was there, and I think she will become a working royal. I think Charles has to do something about his youngest son before Zara and Mike can be pulled into being working royals...if they want. I kind of liked having fewer people on the balcony - it was easier to see individuals rather than just a mash of people. The whole thing would be boring to young kids...it is an adult event!

Every child would rather be off playing or seeing their friends, but they supported their mother & grandfather beautifully. I understand what you are saying about the balcony being sparse, but there is an assumption that it is King Charles choice. If the nephews/nieces & families attended, then the Harkles would run to the media saying they were excluded or racism. KC simply can't win. However, Lady Louise being there was very interesting as she is an adult now & not a working royal. A nod of things to come perhaps? I'd be very supportive of Lady Louise becoming a working royal if she chose to in the future.

If Beatrice and Eugenie were there - then people would ask all over social media - WHERE ARE HARRY AND MEGHAN! They are not a splintered family. Ergo, they were all together for the garden party. Additionally, because of Harry and Meghan, the King said only working royals on the balcony because Markle wants that balcony and carriage photos.

When you have cancer you need to keep distance from people because of germs. With both Charles and Kate both sick the distance between people may be for health.

In my understanding, Trooping the colours is not a family gathering only. It is a State event, a kind of National Day. King Charles, very wisely IMHO, has decided to have only working royals on the balcony. It allows him not to give any public role to Andrew and H, which would be resented by the public. Yes, the working royal family is small but it is bound to change as the children grow up. I think that Catherine was not forced into attending. She went there because of the importance of the event. She is also colonel of the regiment celebrated this year. IMHO, it was the perfect moment for attending a public event because this one has a strong symbolic relevance. Not like Wimbledon or the Easter service. She is a woman of duty. She also very likely wanted to appear with her family around her and make it more comfortable for her children, as well as showing her solidarity and respect to the King. She didn't look like she was unhappy. However challenging the day might be for her (and for the King), she probably enjoyed the public's show of love and support.

Andrew will never be able to stand on the balcony again as the British public will turn on them. As for Zara, Mike, and the York girls, until they are working royalsrs, they will return to the balcony.

Princess Catherine, was also overwhelmed by the love and joy, the people gave her, when they saw her. Disagree about, Andrew and Sarah, as the people would NOT accept seeing Andrew on Balcony and Sarah, had some financial dealings with JE in past. Balcony No imo 💚🇦🇺

The kids did great. I did miss Zara and Mike w their kids, Princess Beatrice and Edo with their daughter along with Princess Eugenie and Jack with her sons. It just makes the huge balcony look nicer and the family more like a family. I understand that Prince Andrew can’t be there but the rest should have attended. That’s just my opinion I guess.

😊 Personally I think PC came because it is normal for them to be there. When you are going through cancer life is not normal. Children needs normal. I imagine the balcony was kept small because of the therapy the King and PC are going through. Probably okd by Dr to keep it small.

No way Andrew, Sarah and Eugenie should be on there, they have all disgraced themselves. Andrew has twice tried to get the crown for himself instead of Charles 🤣 The Queen changed the balcony line up because of Harry and Meghans behaviour, blackmail and threats… It’s better being less people so they’re not all bunched up. Also safer for Catherine while she’s still having treatment. There is a second balcony in the courtyard where other Royals can gather to watch the flypast.

Comparing Trooping to the garden party, is it possible that the extended family are not feeling close to Charles? Look who turned out for William at the garden party and who was absent at Trooping. Will we see more extended family support for William as king?

It is Protocol. No non working royals on the balcony. It settles the Andrew and Harry's problem very nicely.

There were a lot of 4's in your reading...so the children 3 and Princess Catherine is the 4's I believe that they kept the "Balcony " wasn't overcrowded because of both King Charles and Princess Catherine are still receiving chemo...fewer people hopefully fewer germs
