it drives me crazy when people say autistic kids need more punishments because they are "badly behaved" or "always having tantrums" it also drives me crazy that others in the comments disagree with you

Punishment is not a myth. I visited an ABA facility for my autistic daughter recently. On my tour, there was a small room, with a window the size of an envelope that was beyond the child's reach. There was a child locked in this room (for bad behavior) in the dark during my tour. The person giving the tour told me the dark helps some kids calm down. I can't believe this is even legal.

Punishment can work for children with autism. It’s called not going out, not playing with toys, tablets, no snacks, no tv, being sent to bed early, etc. it is NOT hitting, or locking the autistic child in a room like a felon in Alcatraz!

Hit hit not just hit but electroshock to with devices that were created to really hurt them Lady it's insane and it's torture we don't even do that to our enemies and War lady you need to shut up. Someone some judge please real that this lady needs to undergo electroshock therapy the way these children do and sit in a room for 3 months at 5 foot rooms for 3 months.
