MAKING A DOG ON THE LATHE FOR MAKERS CARE
The theme this year was animal, so I decided to make a Dachshund dog using my Lathe, I was inspired by a picture I saw on google. I decided to replicate it and I really thought it turned out really amazing.
More about makerscare.org. Makers care has been setup up by Steve Ramsey (Woodworking for mere mortals) and Ava Kelly (reelio.com), Their vision is to make people more involved in helping to make people aware of make a wish foundation, you can get involve and support them and go to the website and donate.
So one of the things Steve has done is for every photo or video of a plane submitted to makerscare.org he will donate $5 to the make a wish foundation.
So here is the dog I made for this great cause, Please head over to makerscare.org and show some support, click the makers care picture to go to see all the other animals made.

Whoever was/is responsible for these "4X" speed videos should be - -well never mind!! This video showing how to make a little dog on the lathe COULD HAVE BEEN EDUCATIONAL but because of the speed and frenetic actions failed to make the video useful, let alone enjoyable. Just an observation from an 88 yerar old Retired Marine.
