Musks are one of my favorite types of notes and categories of fragrance. I love clean white musks, musks with funk and everything in between. I just sprayed Clair de Musc after hearing you mention it because it had been a while. My favorite fragrance at the moment is Les Indemodables Musc des Sables. It’s just such a dream. Some other musky frags I’ve been enjoying wearing lately are Arquiste Peau, Veronique Gabai Eau de la Nuit, and Etat Libre d'Orange The Ghost in the Shell. I also tend to love when musks are combined with iris/orris (my fav material/note) like in Heeley Iris de Nuit, Glossier You, and Frederic Malle L’Eau d’Hiver. I will definitely be looking to try several of the fragrances you mentioned here.

You are one of the few creators that I get genuinely excited when I see a new video! Ah yes, I had White Musk in my teenage years. Lately I’ve been enjoying musk with a little beeswax. Essential Parfume The Musc has been growing on me and also Al Haramain Royal Musk is a beautiful clean but not soapy floral musk with beeswax that I reach for often. Thanks for the great suggestions ❤

Hi! I appreciate your respect for our time, in keeping your videos to about 10 minutes. I agree very much with your opinions of these fragrances, and after using up one or two of my existing bottles, might buy the Narciso Pure Musc. It's very wearable, but unlike the Body Shop fragrance, which I actually use to fight insomnia, doesn't make me sleepy. Great for daytime wear, in that sense.

Thank you for this video. I think the robe looks great! I thought it was somekind of kimono vest... I really enjoy wearing musks to bed. They feel fresh and clean, but cozy. I'm so glad I got White Musk (and Black Musk too). It was my ''signature scent'' in highschool. I love wearing it, it takes me back. Really liking the new Narcisso one, but it is sweet.

My favorite musk was the 1970's and 80's Coty Musk Oil in the dark brown bottle. I hunt it down and find the old version sometimes, but now it is very pricey. I love your outfit, and thank you for your sharing about these Musks- I will have to try some more of them.

Loved that you reviewed musks. I used Jovan in the 70's and an oil from Spiritual Sky (don't know if they still exist, but they also did a beautiful patchouli). I have the Kiehl's musk which I love. I would love to try all the ones you've mentioned. Oh I have used Narcisco Rodriguez Musc for Her, love it.

I recently found Clair de Musc at a Canadian fragrance online pop-up-shop. Bought it right away. It’s amazing. I LOVE a good clean musk and this one makes me so happy. Feels like a cloud hugging me. Thanks for the recommendation!

I’ve been so sad to see Clair de Musc was discontinued right after I discovered it this month with a travel spray. Will be looking for it, but so glad to hear your recommendation for a similar one! Will be trying it.

What a superb video, Sam! Still lamenting the loss of Kheils's musk oil, which was sexier than the spray :( but lots more to try! Auric Blends Egyptian Musk is a great budget(ish) is really nice. It is clean, but sometimes suggests the sweet smell of sweaty summer skin, and never goes into skanky BO territory.

Love this video ❤ I grew up with Alyssa Ashley‘s Musk, my mum always had a bottle of the lotion. My very first niche perfume was Clair de Musc, still one of my alltime favourites. I‘m shocked to learn they‘ve discontinued it. Whyyyyyy 😢

Going to check out some of your mentions as I’ve not heard of some BUT so agree with on the OIL for Bruno Acampora’s musk. In the warm weather it REALLY performs on warm skin. Musk Gold is nice floral like take on it. Both Harvey Nicks and Harrods have no stock for Kiehls Musk so lots of people agree with you. Great choice for a video

Lots to try here! Thanks! I revisited my sample of Nubian Musk from Sana Jardin and I’m actually very much liking it. Musk Deer by Zoologist is a can’t-stop-sniffing my skin exp for me. Perris Monte Carlo’s Musk Extreme is really enjoyable, too.

Love this video, as I love musks. Agree with you on Musc Ravageur- hated it because I expected *musk*. I got cinnamon, vanilla (a lot), and amber.

I like musk in my fragrances but more the clean woody, floral musks. I really enjoy Sana Jardin too. I actually got a sample of Poudrextase and it is intoxicating and makes you want to keep sniffing, but I couldn't handle more than one tiny spray on one wrist to test it. I just can't tolerate very powerful fragrances (yet) 😉 Great video Sam, and great robe ❤

I love this video and I adore musks! So many I want to try now 😍 I’d love to know if you’d tried Punk Motel from Coreterno and what you think of it! It’s quite musky, and there’s just something a bit dirty about that I’m obsessed with. Definitely a bedroom scent 😍

Yay a Sam video 🥳 I enjoyed hearing about it although musks and I have a difficult relationship. I don’t mind the white musk smell on the surface (smells good) but it makes me nauseous, quite odd. 1957 that happened with. le Labo Another 13- same thing. What has been a recent gateway has been Andrea Maack’s Smart (white musk). The other dark animalics I like in smaller doses in the background.

Armaf Club de Nuit Imperiale is my new love. It’s a spot on PdM dupe and just beautiful. Escada Santorini Sunrise, Versace Bright Crystal, Dior J’dore Parfum d’ eau are my go to’s.

Musks are generally not my thing but on occasion, especially for bed, I like to smell nice but not like anything overwhelming, so the only musk I’ve come across that I genuinely like is Andrea Maack Smart. I love it, so clean and fresh with a hint of violet leaf.

Such a timely video! I kid you not, just an hour ago I did a little experiment. I like Poudrextase but it’s a projection bomb. I think it needs to be worn close to skin because to me it smells like, well, bodily fluids (but in a sexy way). I wanted to try mixing another perfume to tame it. So I mixed it in a spray vial with Pure Musc by Narciso Rodriguez, and I can’t stop sniffing my arm!

Thank you for this video! Have you heard of the now-discontinued Colette Black Musk Oil? It vanished when the Paris store closed in 2017, and I've been obsessed with finding a dupe ever since. It's a little like the C.O. Bigelow, and a little like the Musc Ravageur....which maybe just shows I don't know what I'm talking about.

Not a fan of white or silver musks, too cold and clean. Love Kiehls Original Musk, its my ideal! Also big on Red Musk oil, various brands...(im wearing Eyeseye creations red musk oil, rn) Nemat Musk oils are great, musk, Musk-Amber, vanilla musk, etc...Cabot Labs Musk oil is still around from way back! And Skin Musk Oil by parfums de Coeur takes me back...its warm and light, not dirty, and the oil is so much better than the spray! Chocomusk fills my gourmand cravings, and Jovan Musk for woman is a fresh, clean take on it...Coty Wild Musk still good, but i wish it smelled like it used to...being on a limited income, my musks have to be affordable and long lasting.

I thought no one used musk from animals anymore. How can one tell it is synthetic because I definitely do NOT want to wear perfume an animal had to die for! Also, I heard castoreum is from beaver, do you know if this is also synthetic?

The 'raunchy' musks just seem to repel me. Kiehls was floral for a few mins, then poop, They've changed it now and it doesn't smell musky at all really. Jicky - neat poop! Most 'ordinary' people hate that stuff. I went to an exercise class once wearing Goutal's Musc Nomade, which even I can tolerate, but the lady taking the class apologised for the 'unwashed' smell around and that it must have been the previous people!! The worst I've tried was probably Afrika Olifant by Nishane - it smelt like 'that' stuff but x3 A full on 'call the plumber' fragrance!

Thank you SO MUCH for this - Kiels stopped making their musk oil (the spray is not the same for me, consider me one of their cult followers - - now lost)... * I'm hoping to find the closest replica of the Kiels Musk Oil - if anyone has recommendations on a clone product I would love to carry on what I have considered my signature scent for over a decade. In the mean time, I am def going to try some of the products you mentioned - really appreciate it, and I had no idea where the scent came from so I appreciate the history and warning about harming animals, I would feel so guilty if I knew I purchased a brand that did this

Have you tried Alkemia perfumers? (I get it on Etsy) or Nemat Musk oil? I like a Red Musk oil, like from Eyeseye creations, but honestly, I've never found any that smell like Kiehls. Maybe Nemats Musk-Amber...but...😢

I love NR, but especially the Musc Noir Rose. I also love Initio's Musk Therapy. Royal Muska is SO nice, but I am a bit anosmic to it after a few minutes.

I'll help you out. Subscribes and likes. I like NR Musk though it's a fairly recent buy. Musk is a bit tricky for me I have found it diffucult to appreciate. I like your channel. Keep it up and I wish you all the best.
