Yes typically but expensive ring insurance does exist

there are no marshalls or flags on days like this as far as im aware , the only flags you see are being waved by members of the public

@@melin1969 Most of these clips are from the former VLN now NLS championship, they obviously have marshalls else it would be way to dangerous to race.

@@Maenfy watched two clips in both there was an accident followed up by a pile up. Clearly not enough communication to the cars coming up.

Thats the thing they aren't. Its the force in which they hit the barriers. A normal road going car would do the same.

@@Atticus3lack Uh yes, they are lol A road car will hit that fence but the chances of it spinning and flying like that are nowhere near as high as these race cars, they are literally gutted, nowhere near the weight of a normal car. The normal car might jump a bit or spin but on the ground, that barrier will not lift it and spin it like that.

@@ela-mana-mu It's plastic, aluminum, maybe some carbon here and there but that car's parts flew everywhere so I doubt there was any carbon. Still, hope the guy is okay, that was a serious crash..

A Local companay J. Bongard Herschbroicherstr. 2 Adenau does all recovery work on the Nurburgring. They have a storage facility where they keep the cars until owners pay up for the service provided. All these trucks are from the same company. Storage of the wreck of crouse costs money too, probably there is a difference between tourist days and races.

@@Gias1 Crashed Cars will be collected at T13 during the race, the the will given to the raceteams for extrating useful parts and electronic after the race

depends. If there is a professional race, it's covered by insurance. If a privat person crash, it depends if the driver has a special insurance for track use or not. If not, the driver has to pay the towing company and for every damaged section of the railing. It can be really expensive to crash on the Nürburgring... and your own damaged car comes ontop of that :D

i have seen another roll over of a modern BMW, the round front shape makes them flip when they touch the barrier, i suppose the height and centre of gravity has also something to do with that.

@@feelgooddany I see that you have no idea what you're talking about. According to German law, it is a tolled section of the normal public road without speed limits.

It depends on the conditions. The normal German law applies during Touristenfahrten (open for public) so you are responsible for damage that you cause to other drivers. The ring is also used as a race tracks during races and trackdays. On those days the rules of the track apply so you only pay for your own damage. One thing that I would like to add is that during Touristenfahrten you have to respect the rules of the public road. This means that you overtake on the left side and allow other (faster) drivers to overtake you easily by moving over to the right. Also checking your mirrors every other second is highly recommended.
