I visited Nördlingen as part of a road trip through the Romantische Straße I took with my wife in early April 2019.
On the 5th of April we left Augsburg in the morning and drove about 70km nord to reach Nördlingen where we arrived around 11am.
Nördlingen is a medieval town built in an impact crater formed 15 million of years ago from the collision of a meteorite.
The town is built on a circular map and surrounded by a well preserved walkable wall.
We managed to get a flyer describing what to see in Nördlingen which was extremely useful as it gave us a great opportunity to stroll around the town and enjoying some quiet and picturesque spots, such as the Rathaus, the Tanzhaus and the Neumühle.
We eventually left Nördlingen after 2pm as we headed towards Dinkelsbühl.
