@@moistjohn OP - after having a rating 1 no claim bonus for years and continuously seeing our insurance premiums rise, we started checking the price through the online calculator for new policies and found it to be around 10-15% cheaper than renewing our rating 1 no claim bonus policy automatically. Now my OH calls and gets the renewal price matched to the online quote. Doing this might help offset some of the rise in premium from losing your rating 1.

This is the most feel-good reality competition show. There are no mean judges or deliberately bad acts, just a pair of veteran magicians being really nice and supportive to younger and newer magicians, and that's what it should be all about. Even if the magician "loses" there's no real shame about it, they always seem to be grateful just to have been on the show, and I love that Penn always finds something nice to say about the act even if he wasn't fooled.

Doubt he was listening, that the shot of teller was shot at the same time as the impression, and that he was pissed. It’s a tv show, not two ppl just shooting the breeze, after all

After I finished, they both came out to the hallway to say hi and compliment me; I've actually been friends with the both of them since 2014. The impression was not set up in a pre-interview. I was given a heads up by a producer that Ms. Hannigan may ask me about impressions so to be ready with one or two and I know Penn is friends with Gilbert and he'd never heard me do mine. GG is not my best, but he's probably in my top 10.

@@ManBearPiglet I know. I've actually been friends with him since 2014 and we've had many conversations together, but there's nothing funny about doing a realistic impression of a normal sounding voice that most people have never heard since his on-stage persona is effectively mute, so I decided to go for a ridiculous, unexpected, yet accurate impression of someone on the opposite end of the spectrum (that I know Penn is friends with) for the sake of something called "comedy."

I love this show because I get to see what I have learned whilst traveling about with sideshows and such, and this...? Isn't hard to figure out. @marcryptic 4 жыл бұрын
@@BabbleOn777 I called you Greta because you said "how dare you", which has become a meme. As far as the trick, the similarities are in the deceptions. In this trick he was pretending the balloon was without helium even though it did, which does remind me of how Penn and Teller were upside down and were giving the appearance of being right-side up. I should add that when we say "helium tank", we're not talking about one of those giant steel barrels you so often see. 02:22 He filled it with helium gas at the start, look at how he connected the balloon to the tube from his left hand. 02:42 he hid that thing in his left hand. 03:00 he's actually stopping it to float since it is filled with helium, that's what Penn means when he says backwards. We thought it would fall but it's the opposite. 03:15 this balloon is filled with a fine sands of iron, this is what the bearing is, a tiny ball iron bearings inside the balloon. Put the balloon on top of a magnetic table to hold it in place. 03:20 his right hand turned on/off a switch under/side of the table to turn on/off the magnets, those magnets are lined up in a row. First magnet off, the balloon moves to the second magnet and so on. That's why it crawling with a move-stop motion. 03:27 is where he use an invisible string and loop it on top of the balloon to keep it in place, a smaller circle-shaped string not wider than the balloon. 04:00 is where he breaks the string, he let go of the balloon and it floats weirdly, maybe because from the excess rubber from the knot or from those fine iron sands that fell to the bottom of the balloon.

This was a very wholesome, pleasant act. I tip my hat for doing something that is both unique and nostalgic. My favorite part of this video was actually not the act itself (make no mistake, it was a top act) but when you said that you were cheating because balloons are already magic and to prove it all you need to do is look at a child's face when given a balloon. Right when you say that the camera cuts to Penn and Teller and you can see how Teller's face lit up at that remark, he was absolutely enthralled by that poetry and so was I. Trying to reignite the spark of childlike wonder is what magic is all about and you completely nailed it.
