I must say I am from America and did not know about this movie before the Golden Globe, but now I'm so glad that it got the award. Many Americans said that they never heard of the song and that it didn't deserve the award, but in my opinion it was easily the best out of everything nominated. But what's more is that I was tired of the songs always being from American artists and showing the American culture and perspective, I wanted to see the beliefs and experiences of other cultures as it was an international awards ceremony. I've watched this movie through Netflix a few months back, and already thought it was good. The songs were definately well made. Its nice to return now after the Oscar, to check which song from the entire movie score had specifically won this recognition. Keep it up, India, your movie productions are getting better each year!
