He is a player who could have been part of the best players in the world. He has an incredible talent! unfortunately, he has made the ligaments crossed and can not fully find his level before. But he will feast in Spain. Even if Betis is a smaller club than Lyon, he went only to play in liga and integrate a better club after.

@@johnydope2005 abdou brahimi is wrong. it's not about his knee but about his position he is an exclusive number 10 now and doesn't like doing much defensive work so he needs workers behind him. that and the fact they accepted to take his brother with him which liverpool didn't want at the last minute. oh and consider it 30 milions you need to add bonus and there is a 20% fee for his next transfer to lyon.

He was one year on his contract, lyon don’t want to lose him for free and the player doesn’t want a new contract, so they started offering him to other clubs for a cut price deal of 20-25M. Big clubs don’t want to take the risk due to his injury problems so betis snapped him up.

For those who do not understand this transfer, Fekir has suffered a serious injury which he has never found his true level before his injury. He has a physique that requires him to play behind the striker in a 4-2-3-1 because he can not defend while the new coach from Lyon explained wanting to play in 4-3-3. Moreover, Fekir is often injured in recent seasons and the player needed a new atmosphere to progress. From France I think it's a smart transfer for everyone because Lyon recovers money and releases a big salary for a possible big transfer (Ziyech), Fekir discovers a new environment and the Betis recovers a player world class for few money.

From a Lyon fan imma explain the situation. Fekir is often injured that's why liverpool canceled the deal. His last season was very average but in his prime he could play in almost any team itw. also Fekir is a 10 wich is rare and Lyon doesn't play with CAM anymore so he had to leave. He refused offers from Napoli to join Betis, so it shows he really wanted to join Betis !

ady h I don’t think we are going to miss him, we always replace player, (We have a top 3 academy in the world) we replaced Lacazette and tolisso pretty easily, nowwe have Aouar and Depay who are supremely good, as of the player we will buy to replace him We don’t know, but every Lyon fan wants Ziyech from Ajax haha

- He had only 1 year contract back with Lyon, and wanted to leave - Last season was very lower than usual due to health problems I believe (reason why his transfer at Liverpool didn't work last summer), he never recovered 100% from his 2015 injury, and I doubt he could do so with Lyon winters being quite harsh - He's not sure to play much in a big team with his actual health and level. Though, Betis will be perfect: the team is good enough, play offensive and a spanish style that Fekir loves, and Sevilla climate (sun and quite near to the sea) will help him recover his knee. So Fekir has all the keys to become a very top player again, also physically - His dream always was playing in La Liga, if he does well at Betis he will have the doors opened for spanish top 3 or european top clubs (like Lo Celso leaving Betis for Tottenham) ---> This transfer is great for both Fekir, Betis and Lyon despite the appearances. As a Lyon fan, I wish him the best there and after.

A lot of people say Fekir got hurt and never reached his best level again. This is wrong. Fekir's best season was 17-18, way after his knee injury which occured in september 2015. He took one good year to fully recover and has been hurt for only 50 days since. So yes, his style has changed significantly compared to before his injury, and he's still fragile, this is why Liverpool didn't buy him last summer (they wanted to lower the price to 50M and president Aulas refused if I remember correctly). But I'm sure if his knee doesn't fuck up, he will be one of the best players in La Liga this season (motivation renewed). Thus it's an very good deal for Betis and I thought Napoli would have been quicker on this one.

First he was close to the end of his contract with Lyon (only 1 more year) which means cheaper, secondly his last season was not that good, thirdly he wanted to leave Lyon after he failed to join Liverpool last year, fourthly the new Lyon's coach Sylvinho wants to play in 4 3 3 which doesn't fit Nabil's qualities (he's better as a number ten or second striker). He's a great player but its time in Lyon was done, he had to move on and he did!

If you are a regular watcher of la liga you will know that in last few seasons Betis were improving a lot. They are definitely in top 5 of best clubs in Spain right now. Their squad has a lot of potential. I think they will do really well this season.

i am a human bean I’m a regular watcher of la liga, they do have a strong squad but Fekir only choose Betis to prove himself in la liga and go to a better team afterwards
