He’s not changed at all . He was educated, well settled and was the best emerging left handed opener in cricketing world at a time and was chosen to lead Pakistan 🇵🇰 and then he made such a big mistake. I still don’t know why ? He could have been Pakistan best opening batter of all time and would have been best captain for Pakistan as he was young and well spoken Educated guy 😢

Always loved hearing you Salman. Yes I was extremely hurt being in England the time that incident happened and think its one of te darkest days of Pakistan Cricket but it pain me more that a talent like you and Asif could never play for Pakistan again. But I am always been a great admirer of you as a batsman as well as a speaker.. such a graceful young man. GOOD LUCK for your future endeavour.

34:12 credit to Salman Butt for giving due credit to Indian bowlers playing at that time (Zaheer Khan, Ashish Nehra, Irfan Pathan, Balaji, RP Singh etc.) and for correcting Nadir Ali (who here also like in his other podcasts always discredits/ looks down on Indian bowlers) that Indian bowlers were good & had skills

He did not destroy Pakistan cricket it was already on the down process due to the state of Pakistan government and so many incident's which occurred they made a mistake they served their time that should have been it they should've been allowed back in the team.

I am a cricket fan who had a lot of hope from the Pakistan cricket team specially Amir and Asif, and what Butt did to them and the country while being the captain of the team is simply disgraceful. The trust on the team just went away and cricket in general got impacted by their actions. When you play for Pakistan, you are not only representing the country you carry and manage the expectations and emotions of millions of people. That is what he destroyed for his own greed.

@@steelydan133 look I was where you are now but over the years I have come to realise the destruction of cricket or anything else in Pakistan has more to do with the people that call the shots. What Butt did cannot obviously be condoned but in a country like Pakistan we have to look at things in context and when our PMs and Chiefs and such have cases of billions against them what can one expect from a mere cricketer. The rot in this country starts from the top and the other fact very much to my own point is that Butt Aamir and Asif lost their careers but nobody in the management side was held accountable and Ijaz Butt continued as chairman till end of his tenure. Also Asif had a history of issues can’t blame butt for his demise.

@@Dan-vs9tu Agree that Pakistan's leadership is mostly corrupt, but I have no desire to follow them, neither do I trust them, neither do I waste a single minute discussing what they do, as I have zero tolerance for crooks and corrupt govt. But sport is one thing that everyone wants to keep pure, they are your heroes, you follow them, you want to be like them, you discuss them. It's a few things in life people are passionate about that you want to keep pure as you feel someone is putting in effort and competing specially for your country. Hence we respect our sportsperson so much. What Butt did (whatever the reason) he just destroyed that trust and everyone including me lost hope and passion for a sport that I followed all my life. Are these the people I am spending my time and energy on and looking up to? He put all of Pakistani supporters to hang their heads in shame as that is what we were backing. He had a chance to take Pakistan to glory and he just destroyed it when he was made in charge. That's why I have no respect for him. Yes people make mistakes, but not when a nation is looking up to your leadership. Pakistani politics is different, as no one looks upto them, if they are, they are destined to be doomed. Not trying to argue with you, just stating how I feel about this guy and why. Peace!

One of the best podcast. I'm impressed by Salman's well thoughtout responses and a very balanced view about him gone astray. I second his opinion that Allah forgives but people don't. He sounded very optimistic, visionary and cohesive in his thought process. I request top brass of cricketing affair to utilize his services for cricket in Pakistan. An observation with apology, Nadir bahi this is second time you used punjabi phrase with two cricketers which spoiled the taste of your sharpe mindedness.

But you have to admit time and time again that you royally messed up instead of focusing on different players were treated differently. You’re right but that doesn’t change that you messed up big time. You’re educated, you’re well spoken you’re from a good family you’re the Captain!
