Naga Insurgency is India's first and oldest insurgency. In this video, I have tried to explain the timeline and the key events that took place in this armed rebellion against the state of India. The objective of the video is to put the many unknown facts about the naga insurgency in the public domain.
The content of the video is taken from multiple open sources data points like Books, Blogs, and Documentaries. I hope the explanation will help you all to keep a clear picture of what happened in the past.

After making the video I realized that I have not covered the human rights violation which was committed by the security forces and the naga insurgents. It will be required a separate content section and adequate proof backing have to be there before I make any claim.

My grandfather was a commandant in BSF when Aheto surrendered, he had the privilege of working with him and supervised the formation of the naga battalion. Growing up he would tell me stories about this battalion, great guys.

This is the core issue that India and Nagaland were separate entities with different administrative arrangements with the British. India was a Colony of Britain and Nagaland freely invited Britain to administer the Nation. Therefore when it was imminent that India was going to be granted independence, Nagaland preemptively declared its independence before India’s independence. This action by Nagaland was refused to be accepted by India.

Under the armed forces special powers act the nagas suffered heavily because of the misused of powers by the indian army. innocent men were killed under the act just because they were suspected of being an insurgent without any proof and the women raped and murdered...it was really a dark phase for the nagas..till date the AFSPA still haunts the nagas with innocents being the victim...

The Nagaland insurgency is as old as our so called independence but till now the same conflict do exist till now. Later the same power was given to the forces of Punjab and J&K to tackle the insurgency. What an irony !!! 🤔... As per my practical experience people of Nagaland, Sikkim, Nepal, Mizoram are very patriotic and humble with great etiquettes and culture. Deep respect to them 🙏🏼

In Nagaland, independence is favored by only some eastern tribes. The reason is they are not economically integrated with rest of India. They need to taste the fruit of capitalism. Once that happens in a decade or two, they will be teaching Kashmiris the benefits of staying as a member of the union of India.

And upon your comment of 'Interdependent nations', all I can say is that while you are technically correct in the modern world, you are vastly overstating the importance that various nation states hold in these relations. To quote your own example, US won't be affected by Sri Lanka, Laos or Cambodia, or the dozens of smaller nation states of Africa. Sri Lanka became bankrupt, the nation was plunged into chaos, and nobody even batted an eye. All that is being done is to make sure it doesn't collapse on itself. Even Pakistan, while being a much larger power with nuclear weapons, is facing intense neglect on the world stage and is facing issues in securing a mere $1 Billion bailout from the IMF. You can clearly see that these 'relations' can be very one sided even in today's globalized era, and no one is truly 'indispensable'.

Nagaland should be given a status like Britain gives Australia or the Falkland Islands. They should be given freedom to rule their land as per their wish but should pledge allegiance to the Government of India and provide their army for India's cause whenever required.

Jinnah proposed Nehru that if he wants to avoid partition, create a loose political union of states where states had the rights to secede and almost full autonomy except for control over foreign policy. A nation should be a union of willing peoples. But India has forcefully kept the Nagas against their will, under the barrel of the gun. No nation/empire can last as long as it is held together only by the force of arms. India is an empire, a geographical construct, held together by military force. That is why the military is operating continously under the extra-constitutional AFSPA.

AFSPA has also led to major resentment towards Army in Nagaland and Mizoram. We must accept that in the 70s and 80s there has been some civillian massacres without any enquiries later on and the involved people not being punished due this act . Similar cases may have happened in some other states but the involved people have been punished in maximum number of times but that is not the case in Nagaland.

You simply start a story from the middle, but you miss out to tell real backbone story of naga. if you don't know the full story please do not spread uncooked story to confuse people. i think you should better research more, You should know and study more on why and how this insurgency started. You should start to tell naga history from the British ruled or before the British. One thing to be clear is that naga was never under India from the beginning.

If you guys want to know the real history of Nagas try to read the novel call The Naga Saga first edition is the real genuine story. The first edition was ban by GOI because lots of things were written in that edition like rape,murder,torture by Indian Army that's the reason why ban by GOI. In second edition only make up stories

Garos are not Naga. They are a seperate tribe who mainly inhabit Garo Hills (Meghalaya), Goalpara (Assam), Mymensingh, (Bangladesh) and some migrants are found in Tripura. They are not Nagas.

India FAILED in northeast, even with 4th powerful army it failed against northeastern terrorists. It will FAIL even more. Indian government in past and present is trying to win hearts of terrorists. The terrorists who are responsible for killing security forces become leaders and VIPs. Weak spineless government is the root cause of all problem. Additionally people living in other parts of India are problem as well. They never take any interest in Northeast therefore atrocities on Indians (not northeast Indians) are never reported by media. Even if it is reported then i have seen many indians (living in other parts of india) would comment "o these were bangladeshis, northeast people dont like bangladeshis" . Meghalaya, manipur, nagaland , mizoram are already a country of their own. Try buying land or marrying their girl and see how successful you are.

My point is simple, Indian govt. the Media and even people don't care about bengalis and others (like my relatives and others) living over there. If possible most of us leave northeast . However there are many people who are stuck due to various circumstances. (like my relative). We know very well the situation over there. So many crimes are comitted against bengalis and non tribal people. However, the media never ever reports these incidents. So those who can stay ,they stay there. Others leave .

Thanks to the Congress for giving us all these gifts, specifically the Punjab one, Kashmir and half of North East (ULFA, NSCN(k) etc. Leaving Punjab aside if they would have paid attention and developed the 7 sister states more and more, the casualties would have reduced, the Army pays a huge price since they just follow orders.

This outraged Mizo leaders like Pu Zoramthanga (who later became a politician) to take up arms against the government of 🇮🇳, even though Zoramthanga never wanted to be part of any insurgency. As per the locals, I.N.C. leaders, Ramesh Pilot and Suresh Kalmadi were the pilots who bombed the Lushai Hills.

Nagas and meiteis are different, Nagas are from Naga hills and they speak various languages, also their main religion is Christianity, heraka, TRC and etc. On the other hand, Meiteis speak meitei lon, and they follow sanamahism and Hinduism. Fr, have you never studied a single shit in school or is your family too poor to afford sending you to a proper school with good educational facilities? Lastly, i am from Kamei clan of Naga (zeliangrong) and we are known as leaders of zeliangrongs(nagas), so what you on about?

North Indians have a habit of finding villians for in every history, here the villian is phizo, but the key is that all Nagas considered their own villages as sovereign. Please don’t put all North Indians in bad light, you all have done enough by killing their brethens and recently the poor coal miners. My father was at training during 1967 at China paching later the whole group was betrayed aheto and they were captured by Indian Army at phisa post and took all their weapons and was sent to bihar jail saying Nagas will get independent and will form a seperate state ( Forgotten hero's) they didn't surrendered by later at the radio said they surrenderd but they were betrayed by their own "Ali command to China 1966/1967 Led by Isaac chishi and moiva and Chief moa" My father was at 4th battalion center command
