Kibaki built twice the width and twice the length of this road at less than half the cost and commissioned it as a no-toll road. I thought you should know.

U cant compare 2009/2010 with 2022 inflation is at high the dollar was at 79ksh now its 115ksh so you can see the reason

That road has cost kenyans ksh 32,594 per centimeter that is ksh 3, 259,260 per metre. I think there is something very very wrong in Kenya.

70kmhp is reasonable enough, going too fast can caught accident or deaths, it is not worth it, what the rush!!! There no traffics on motorways.

@@london5739 speed doesn’t contribute much if road and automobiles are in optimum conditions. German cars run at 300km/h and in most countries: cars travel at 110-120km/h .

What if kuna jam kwa entry points na exit points? Am not a pessimist but kuna shida hapa, I believe an express way will only work if the surrounding infrastructure is also upgraded.

Since it's mostly for small cars and not lorries and buses or PSV why not increase the speed limit to 100 or 120 km/ again the toll stations have such a heavy chinese look unlike the SGR stations

I'm afraid that we are becoming like the classic capitalistic economy like the US ,, Nairobi looks cool except if you really look ,China relationship isn't bad actually but a balanced economy shud be important,,from education, agriculture , infrastructure,health etc and if no politics in it ,a plus.

what kind of deal is that not a debt nor funded by the government but they will collected money for 30yrs ,its only 64billion more than 3000 cars pass there daily the government can pay this in less than 10yrs if its a debt

It's a high time these guys maximized profits by applying the economies of scale concept. They should let drivers have unlimited access for a much lower and affordable price. Affordability = more cars = higher cashflow = more profits

Revenue (affordable price x number of cars) is only one part of the equation. The second part is costs (Road maintenance & repairs due to wear and tear, Road side assistance in case of accidents, etc). The second part has quite the impact on profits/cash flows. Below a certain price level, the profit per car becomes negative.

It's not built by the Kenyan government it's built by the Chinese and they gonna run it for 30 years, so if they steal, they steal from themselves while leaving us with infrastructure.
