This is what 'determination and devotion' for a beloved hobby. I just got myself a Nakamichi DR3, and it is working but one day I will need to change the orange cap and belts, and your video gives me the courage. Very well done..

Fantastic Video - I both subscribed to your channel and bought an LX-3 needing a belt change and recap. i've long wanted to learn how to change belts and recap my older audio pieces but lacked confidence to start tearing into gear without guidance. Your video is well presented and clearly directed to hobbiest like myself that are drawn to unique vintage audio pieces like the LX3. I just got through re-caping my LX-3. I did not find any of the removed capacitors to be defective or out of tolerance. However, the two in the Record Level Circuit (C130 & C230) were 820pf and not 680pf as the schematic shows. Was there a service bulletin which changed this values?

What tool or technique do you use to remove the very small C-clips off the transport mechanism without damaging the very brittle plastic, especially on the cassette door damper shaft?

Hey, Im also a boater, keep my sailboat in false creek. I'm working on my LX-3 and "also" got the 4th belt :(. My question though is, you put heat shrink on the idler drive pully, I had not seen that requirment anywhere and it does not look like any rubber was there from the factory. Can you advise?
