There's a few variations on this on hugequiz and the biggest city in each grid one, especially on advanced and expert, really drives home how big Brazil, russia and China are

It is sometimes Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky not just Petropavlovsk.

It is always Petropavlovsk Kamchatsky. The original Petropavlovsk is the one in modern Kazakhstan.

Well done, even though it's any city per square instead of the largest, still tough.

I think the post-quiz screen needs to be retooled to show the one biggest city in each remaining square, instead of the X biggest across all squares. As long as that's possible with the tools you've got of course!

Sabha is the only 50k+ city in the Saharan part of Libya. Meanwhile the biggest cities in the Algerian Sahara are Adrar and Tamanrasset.

Some usable ones for this and the coverage quizzes, which are not too hard to remember and far away from everything else: Northwestern Canada: Prince George South Chile: Puerto Montt South Argentina: Comodoro Rivadavia Russia: Vorkuta, Yakutsk, Norlisk, Magadan Kamchatka: Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky (you missed the Kamchatsky part) Western Sahara: Dakhla Central Algeria: Tamanrasset South Oman: Salalah North Sumatra: Banda Aceh West Papua: Sorong and Jayapura

For British columbia I think Kamloops and Kelowna probably would've worked, for southern philippines the best one is probably Davao, then possibly Cebu, and for central-south chile, the biggest one I think is puerto montt. Big cities in remote locations are always super helpful to learn. Anyways, I loved this video and am glad I found your channel. Keep it up!

Mh, there are few that come to mind. Maybe Puerto Princesa for Palawan could work, then there's Jayapura for Western Papua, Tamanrasset in inner Algeria, Salala in Oman, Piura in Peru, Iquique or Antofagasta in northern Chile, Puerto Montt in middle Chile, Comodoro Rivadavia in eastern Argentina, Santarem for east of Manaus, Prince George for BC, Laayoune or Nouadhibou for Western Sahara/Mauritania, Tindouf in Algeria east of that, Sabha in Libya, maybe Alexandria could've worked for the square west of Cairo (otherwise maybe Faiyum), Kismaayo for Somalia, and then there's Vorkuta, Salekhard and Norilsk as well as Yakutsk and Magadan in northern/eastern Russia and Petropavlovsk Kamchatsky (never forget the Kamchatsky :D) in Kamchatka, Russia. Oh and don't forget the string of towns east of Irkutsk: Ulan Ude, Chita, Birobidzhan and Khabarovsk on the way towards Vladivostok :)

The Indian city you were trying to get is AmritSAR, not "AmriSTAR" haha. I'm pretty sure it would also be in that square. Also, some cities in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh are Dharamshala, Shimla, Kargil, Leh, Jammu, and Srinagar. Another city which is the joint capital of Punjab and Haryana is Chandigarh, which is pretty northern too.

The one for "Western Australia" is likely Kupang at the tip of Timor. There are only three cities in Western Australia with more than 50K population. Perth, Mandurah (which is basically outer suburban Perth) and Bunbury. All are in that South West corner.

One mode I really enjoy on hugequiz, not sure if you've already done it, is the "city closest coverage" one. Its like city coverage, with circles on the map, but the circles dont have a set size, instead they cover the closest (50/100/500) cities, with varying size. Its very satisfying because you can cover all of the map with the circles and some of them (like in Alaska or New Zealand) are huge while others (Japan or China) are really small, making it harder to cover these places.

I believe one of the largest deep-inland Algerian cities is called In Salah. For the West-Saharan one, I believe L'aayoun (or something of that description) would fit the bill, as it is the largest port city in the area. I also wonder if Egyptian west desert oases count as their own "settlements" (likely not)
