it'd be cool if the twinscapes are connecting but contrast. For example: the 1st one is a green left side of a mountain with carpet like monte carlo and the other one is the other half of the mountain but just rock scape, dry, no plant like desert. When you put them close together you can see the whole picture of a mountain, one half is full of lives and green, the other half is no live and yellow-ish

I always find 'mountain-type' aquascapes, above tree-line, so appealing visually, meaning large rocks with paths and really small aquatic plants growing and really small 'nano-fish"...like a Japanese mountain scene where one might find a trail that leads to an old wise hermit who has been living there for years...and writes nature based poetry.

@@JurijsJutjajevslooking at the shelf. Amazing ideas pops up. But what might be interested to all other viewers/subs/fans of Juruis. Building a fishtank from the start. Using a substrate with no nutrients, what would you use by creating your own substrate. Gravel?, sand?, substrate that works like a battery sucks nutritions from the water and stores it in the substrate. What would you add under the substrate for bacteria growth, if nutrients added in the substrate it might be interested creating a battle of the fertilizer caps. And what will it do with the water nh4,no2,no3,po4. My 2 cents 😉👍

@@JurijsJutjajevs I'm a big fan of Ferret Wonderlands' Paludariums. Something like her undercave setup would be amazing (kzfaq.info/get/bejne/i9qAdcJjptjWpmw.html&ab_channel=FERRETWONDERLAND). More generally: your side-by-side tank setup has so much potential. I love the idea of each tank expressing a different biome/biotope--but all being connected. So one tank might begin with a hardscape-heavy mountaineous setup. The next tank would continue--and transition into a forest (kzfaq.info/get/bejne/opOGpLOflti5cXk.html&ab_channel=MulMung). The third tank would then turn into a dense jungle/paludarium. The last tank could be an open beachy sand-based setup. If the transitions are done right, the series of tanks would look like a giant landscape of different biomes--with each individual tank capturing each biome. Hope that makes sense.

Your set up is so streamlined and lovely. Can't wait to see all that you do and am so glad you are back making videos! I love nano tanks and will be super interested to see how you manage the filter and C02 hardware to still keep things streamlined/minimalist. That's the challenge I work on :) Also, you folks in Europe never seem to mention a HEATER.....but unless you keep your home super warm you need one and what's the best way there aesthetically? Re filter, the Landen Pura 100 ? I'd be interested to know more about : when you take down an established scape and start again in that tank, what can you use from the old set up that will help the new set up cycle sooner or right off....or would your preference be to start with all new material?? Your presentations always make me feel happy--must be your adorable smile. Thanks .....from here in Vermont :)

On large tanks I use canister filters with build in heaters. On small aquariums I select animals that can tolerate room temperature. Most plants will do fine at room temperature too. And yes we keep our homes relatively warm in winter. and we don't have to heat a lot as we have a very strong insulation

You have inspired my aquascaping career with your UNS 5N videos, I would find it very interesting if you did one of the UNS 5N’s done in a walstad style setup, and the other tank with a high tech setup, you could use the same plants for both setups but I think it would shed some light into the differences in growth between walstad low tech Vs high tech tanks. For the twin-scape I think it could be a cool idea trying to replicate the same "look" for an aquascape using "easy" growing plants in a low-tech aquarium and more "advanced" plants in the other tank (with fertilizers, CO2 etc.). So showing alternatives for both type of tanks that in the end achieve a similar result (like different colors/texture in stem plants, epiphytes, mosses, foreground plants). Because in the past I tried to recreate some aquascapes that just wouldn't work out, because I couldn't afford an expensive setup. But after a while I found that with a good choice of plants even low-tech setups can look really great. Anyways, I am really looking forward to the new nano gallery! 😊

Get a tall piece of wood that branches into two (almost like V shape) and stand upright. Put the base in the bottom rack and cut exactly where it reaches the middle rack. Put the left branch at the left tall tank, right branch at the right tall tank and again cut where it reaches the top rack. The top tank put the two top branches... maybe so tall that it is reaching the lights??? Aquascapers should move beyond just the tanks and imagine how they fit into an entire interior design scheme.

Looks interesting! ❤ When I 1st saw the tanks and shelves (before you began talking), my thought was that it would be interesting to make kind of a cross section of a lake. The shore line on each end (paludarium), maybe one side having a waterfall. Progressing towards the middle a zone of the lake that would be representative of the shallow area. The center would be a deeper benthic zone. That would be an idea not really intended for short term. Seeing you were wanting this racking for short term learning, I do really like the idea of comparison tanks!!! CO2 vs non-CO2; hard water vs soft water; tanks with specific nutrients held back to show deficiencies (other than just pictures of leaves); photo period might even be interesting. I look forward to this little journey! Great idea!

Some ideas for your experiments: 1. Co2 vs no Co2 (do you have time to make this work, fairly?) 2. Cheap tech vs top tech (do we all really need 10x turnover canister filters, active substrates, etc) 3. Lean vs EI or some other fertiliser routine (with a mix of slow, medium, and fast growing plants) 4. Some tech vs no tech (no filter, no heater, etc in one of the tanks) 5. Walstad vs Active substrate (again a mix of heavy root feeders, stems and epiphytes) 5. Floating plants vs no floating plants (or fast helper plants). I'll stop there, I could go on forever... 😁 Really looking forward to this btw... What happened to the RO unit giveaway, did it drown? 😬

Hello Jurisjs, I think your little gallery looks really good. My first thought when I saw the first picture was that you could start with the "Nano Aquascape Recipes", like back then with the UNS5N you had on your desk and had already talked about the idea back then. The idea of listening to the 5N Twinscape is really cool. You could simply test or introduce different fertilisers. Regarding the 3N -> perfect idea with the nano recipes. I'm excited and look forward to the possibility of recreating some. For the 16T tanks, I could very well imagine an Emerse variant in which you recreate a tree in the jungle with some moss on it and possibly an orchid decorated with ferns. What do you think of this idea? I could very well imagine the whole thing as a continuous "overall picture". That leaves the cubes, which really make for beautiful landscapes with ground covers as a submerged variant, although I could also very well imagine a low tech nano aquarium. Only with lighting. Last but not least, here's an idea of mine, or what I would really like to see. What do you think of the idea of designing a scape in which only top-seaters are used? For example, you could use various different anubias or bucephalandras in an aquarium. All tanks would be suitable for this. I am looking forward to the new projects!

@@JurijsJutjajevs Yes. The best thing to do is to take the soil from a molehill and heat it in the oven for a while. Put activated charcoal on the bottom, the soil on top, then the gravel. If you are really clever, you can even make a scape with the walstad method. Of course, the options are limited.

I made a pico 10l walstad aquarium years ago and it worked well. It is medium energy tank.

One of my 60 liter aquariums sprung a leak yesterday and I was interested in making it into a carnivorous terrarium, but I'm really not sure where to start. This idea would interest me.

carnivore terrarium is "easy" - just avoid calcium in your water and hardscape and you should be good. plenty of light is nice too. I will do the UNS 5S with carnivore plants, so you can wait for that as tutorial

Hi @JurijsJutjajevs! I like experiments, do you think could be possible in this video or another to compare 2 identical scapes, one with standard filtration and the other one without? Obviously same plants...

@JurijsJutjajevs The shelve rating of your VITTSJÖ is 30kg for the topshelf and for the other ones 15kg according to ikea, is everything holding up still?

May I ask is the shelving working ok? IKEA says 15kg per shelf is the weight restriction, so I thought even nano tanks once filled would be dangerous?

@@JurijsJutjajevs That is a good idea as it seems most flat pack furniture has low weight restrictions, thank you for replying. I am currently 2 weeks into a Monte Carlo lazy dry start in a UNS 5N, so you have definitely inspired me.

Please make a paludarium with carnivorous plants in the style of Stefan Krämer @estebalius_plantedscapes - preferably even in collaboration with him showing how he builds his scapes. I recently created two such paludariums and can't get enough of them 😍
