"Jerry Calà in controtempo (aganist time)" refers to an italian 80s actor, specifically to the song "Maracaibo" (Maraca Barbie, obviously said aganist time). Dildo Faggins refers to Bilbo Baggins. Barbie Turilli: Turilli was the guitarist of Rhapsody of Fire. Emerald refers to a saga of Rhapsody. Fabio Lione, the one that sing "Yes, i'm a Barbie", was a member of Rhapsody. "polly pocket wants..." refers both to the song Polly by Nirvana and the toy. Many other referrals around :D

I love the reference to Luca Turilli (right after the "Barbie papa part) when Fabio Lione is singing this song imitating his old group Rhapsody Of Fire. Fun fact but true fact : Nanowar Of Steel was previously named "Nanowar" and added "Of Steel", the same way as Rhapsody became Rhapsody Of Fire. Those italian guys are crazy :)

To understand better this song you'd hear "Emerald Sword" by Rhapsody of Fire (sang by Fabio Lione himself) .. the whole song has a lot of reference to that song. A little trivia: Nanowar of Fire initial name was just Nanowar. They changed their name into the actual one after Rhapsody changed their into "Rhapsody of Fire" due to copyright stuff. In their first years Nanowar did a lot of songs parodying Rhapsody , they also did a rap version of "emerald sword" called "rap-sody" or "Look at two reels" that in italian sounds like "Luca turilli", Rhapdosy first guitarist 😆 Both bands are from Italy. 😅

Barbapapà is a children cartoon in Italy.

This was, in fact, the first song of them I saw. But it didn't really click back then that it wasn't just a one-shot funny video on the internet but that those guys actually had whole albums out there with tons more of this insanity. I now own pretty much all their albums, and have seen them live. No regrets.

Its not one of their more well known ones but try 'Ironmonger'

I first heard Nanowar in 2005 from a friend at Earthshakerfest that Manowar was headlining. Nanowar rips a lot of their foundation off Manowar as a fun homage because, like me they absolutely loved the band (until Gods of War which sucked) Early Manowar is amazing. Battle Hymn, Kill With Power, Hail and Kill etc As Manowar faded out Nanowar kept getting better and in 2010 they released Into Gay Pride Ride (spoof off a Manowar album) and when I heard Odino&Valhalla I couldn't stop listening to it and it became clear they had become elite. By the time they released Stairway to Valhalla they had long become my absolute favorite band. They're also touring 1st time in North America October and November I've been waiting 15 years Songs I'd love to watch you react to L'assedio di Porto.. LOTR reference wise I think Nanowar a bit off here, because if Barbie is Galadriel here (the only blonde) she never met Sauron as Sauron the dark lord let alone visit his dark tower Barad-dûr during his reign. And if they throw in the Silmarillion book Melkor/ Morgoth, the master of Sauron who was the previous Dark Lord didn't meet her either. Lúthien more like it as she did try to "entrap" him with her charms, but Lúthien had raven black hair. So likely a mish-mash of the characters.

I Guess all the LOTR and tabletop game references is because power metal tend to sing about dragons and nerdy things
