I love all my fav creators doing daily/weekly/more frequent vlogs in November. I'm also a Nano Rebel working on draft 2 of my fourth novel (all initiated/written during Nanos since 2020!). Already 3200 words in!

Fellow NaNo rebel, yes! And I know you're not the only one who calls the working project a 'manuscript,' but it just pleases me every time. It sounds so old-fashioned in the best way, like curling up by a fire with a bound paper manuscript in hand, ready to make edits or write. And my day one went well! I'm not going based on words (hence the rebel) since my medium isn't really conducive to that. It's a fiction podcast so every day I work towards it I give myself 'par wordcount.' I am also vlogging the process every day, and it's my first time ever vlogging! It's been a lot of fun so far.

A satisfying writing vlog - your presentation style is one of the more engaging that I’ve been watching. Emulation is one big way that I learn and I’ve learned a great deal watching your work. Someone else mentioned your use of ‘manuscript’ and I agree. There’s a traditional feel to your video. Obviously enjoyed watching you go through your process. Thanks for sharing.

Hi, Natalia. I'm pleased you are off to a good start on your edits for book 2 of your series. I'm currently trying to draft whilst still sort of outlining a YA fantasy, which is hard for me because I normally write adult. It's the voices and inner thoughts I'm struggling with, but as I set myself this challenge I shall see it through to the end. Hopefully

My outline went sideways to the point I question whether I'm even a writer at all. I'm still picking away at it in my head. I'm watching with enjoyment Nano videos still.

How do you determine the number of chapters in your books? I (almost always) begin with my lead characters (brother & sister) and end with the same two. The number of chapters in between are usually determined by the outline/text. Anyway, I was just curious how you fix the number of chapters. Thanks and good luck with the chapters!!

I outline my chapters before I start writing, breaking them up based on story beats. The number of chapters almost always changes during the writing process though!
