Naomi played incredible, so many aces and winners! However, Danielle was clearly not herself. She was having neck issues the whole match. She took multiple medical timeouts and underarm served at one point. You could tell she didn’t want to retire. Her serve wasn’t there at all. I hope she finds ways to minimize these injuries she keeps having🥺

Collins was injured in the 2nd set but it would have made no difference anyway, Naomi would have still destroyed her even if Collins was healthy. Her first serves and massive groundstrokes just overpowered Collins and she destroyed Collins second serves effortlessly

Bruh the amount of second serve return winners coming from both players was insane LMFAOO!!

The match was decided by who served best, but also, as many womens matches are, by who returned the second serve best. I'm huge fan of the game, mens and womens, but a consistent weakness on the womens side is the second serve. If the server doesn't make their opponent have to move their feet to make the shot, they routinely put it away. Collins needed to make Osaka work a little harder for her returns.

Really well played by Osaka . Bummer that Collins didn’t play at her best cuz she got the right game plan . Next , against Bencic . I am REALLY looking forward to to see this . Not only bc I am pretty sure we’re going to have a very disputed match , but also bc Osaka has beaten Bencic only once. Bencic is one those players who always knew how to exploit Osaka’s main weakness: lack of speed .Osaka moves well , has a good footwork, is powerful, hits the ball fast etc . but she does not move fast . Bencic always knew how to take advantage of that by finding the openings and taking the ball very early . I am really curious to see if Fissette found the right game plan to beat Bencic ( the last times Bencic beat her was with other trainers) or Bencic still gonna do her thing ? May the best win .
