This is still sold but is not US made anymore, these four way steel valve tools are sweet and should be default standard sold in all bicycle and auto stores. Napa #NTH-90344

Been years since I used one, but pretty sure the busted core extractor has LH threads... & works like an 'EZ-Out'. Cool videos, thumbs up... Thanks!

Yes, exactly what I was going to say. It is a good explanation video, except for that one part. It is actually a left-hand thread easy out. It’s not to go in and make it easier to try to pull it out, it actually locks itself down and unscrews the Schrader valve threads. I still have my original one in my tool box, although it doesn’t look quite as shiny as his. 😁

It looks like a lot of people spotted that error !

The thread chaser is also for pulling a new valve through, at least I think it is, that what I've used it for.
@JohnMurphy-dw6ml2 жыл бұрын
Yes, that’s what it used for.

The old tires that had tubes in them were tough to hold the stem in place. The Schrader tool could be used there, too.

I'm a long haul trucker and I carry one of these in my road box. Handy little tool. The small size is great for working between the dual wheels.
@davidjenkins19582 жыл бұрын
I’ve had one of these in my tool box since the mid 70’s. They also make a tool so that you can screw it in the valve stem, hook air to the one end and it will suck a tube completely flat just like a brand new tube.

I have a four way one just like that one, I even used it to put in a valve stem.👍👍

I bought one for my bike at Chief Auto Parts in West Covina CA in the 80. Yes. I still have it and it says USA just like yours.

Definitely a useful tool. I've used each tip except luckily the broken valve extractor.

During a seaso I was working in a forest, so driving in tricky roads, and I though my tire got pinched by a tree branch or so, but it was only the stem valve that got unscrewed, and then I met this little tool.

I’ve owned one of these since sometime in the early 90’s and after watching this video I had to go check to see if it’s still rattling around in my toolbox.Anyways it’s been a great tool, it’s small and does everything you want it to when needed.

Those things are pretty much unobtainium now. I've had a bunch of them over the years but lost them. I bought a Chinese one recently but it is just made poorly out of aluminum. Although while cleaning up the mess the former owner of my current homestead property left for me I found one of the USA made ones from back in the day in the dirt. It cleaned up nicely and I keep with my tire tools.

I have one of those, I use it replacing tubes so I don't have the valve disappear inside the wheel. I did buy it at a napa
@gordbaker8962 жыл бұрын
I have had one of those for 50 years or more. I just went to get it, cleaned it up. No Makers Mark. Knurled both sides of tap and remover pin. Yes, L.H. threads on remover.

Yep, I've got one of those old valve tool. Don't need it often, but when I do I'm glad I have it. And the outside part of the valve is the stem and the inside is the core.

Lol you only ever need to use one of these once before you realize you need one with a handle :)

Actually,the stem itself is the valve,the tiny parts inside are the cores. We almost never use one of these particular ones because of how awkward they are to hold and u can't spin them very fast. As a pro tire tech,I use a 1/4 Schrader valve core remover bit that fits in the folding screwdriver tip on my Milwaukee fast back. It can fold out,turn any core,and stems are so cheap we always replace them if damaged inside the housing. I also have an Astro core remover screwdriver that I can fit a 14mm wrench on to turn any severe cores.

Yep got one of those. Dont think its American made. I knocked out the auger and put it on top of a Husky #4 with a 12 inch shank glued it on top of that screwdriver and when i get arthritis in those cold mornings. I turn it out like a screw with ease.

Hey Catus, check out the Merlin Digital Tire Inflator. I just picked it up and it came with a 4 way. I was really curious how to use these and badabing! Here's another Catus Maximus to go over my new tool. But I def like the new inflator with the digital gauge built in. Super useful just these past few days.

1:00 Talk of plant and tractors having larger valves - the ones I've seen, the valve is the standard Schrader but is screwed into a larger tbe - so the whole valve body unscrews.
@Tsumarinai2 жыл бұрын
If you add an old stem to the four-way it makes it easier to spin in a core.

wish I could count how many of those have "disappeared" from my tool box, that and spark plug cleaners...if you don't have one of these, get one, now! Nowadays, I make sure that at least 1 valve stem cap has a version of that tool built in and not plastic...

I keep an extra stem screwed onto the chaser. Makes a great place for an extra stem and valve, easier to find in tool box, and is a nice handle to spin valves in or out.
