Kurt undeniably turned me on to the vaselines, meat puppets, the raincoats and so many other cool, underground punk bands. 80’s punk and indie is my jam!

Ja frost yeah I love 80’s alternative stuff. People always cringe when they think of the 80’s, with good reason, when it comes to mainstream pop. However, I think the 80’s was amazing when you think of the great alternative/underground bands. You had rem, dinosaur jr, meat puppets, Cocteau twins, the cure, xtc, bad brains, the list just goes on and on!

@@oldschoolm8 ah people always say that about how cringe the pop was, until something from Thriller is played at a packed party and suddenly everybodys bumpin. With you all the way tho, maybe swap the cure with the Smiths for me but yeah, exploring the 80s a little further really clarified where my sonic interests lie haha hell, even Sonic Youth!

Ja frost, true, thriller is a great album. There was some great pop, but there was a lot of crap too though! Mind you, every decade has plenty of awful music. I think people over glamorise the 60’s, for example. For sure there was some groundbreaking stuff, but there was lots of shitty pop too!
