Welcome to our latest episode in our WATERWAYS ADVENTURES in our TINY FLOATING HOME.
In this episode we have a super big challenge to our LIVE ABOARD LIFESTYLE, a flight of 12 locks, with restricted and limited time to pass through them, a mega hot day, we are running out of water and just when we think it’s finally over we have a technical challenge needing other to come to our rescue. Just a simple day in our ONBOARD FLOATING HOME adventures as we continue up the MACCLESFIELD CANAL!!!

I found Bosley Locks far harder to do than Heartbreak Hill. HH was easy! The locks at Bosley were so tough to move. Despite all that, I loved the Mac.

Yes it does sometimes get in the way but we leave it be unless it is nettles near where we need to get on and off the boat. Thanks for your great comment. x

What a stressful day, but Michael chilled as ever, not helped by the temperature. What a bad show by CRT, not good. Only helped by everybody mucking in. Glad you sorted swing bridge, not what you need after a long day and 12 locks. Well deserved cold drink at the end.

Hi guys, Like so many others, I wish to express my appreciation for the time and effort that you put into producing your videos. Your efforts have given me much enjoyment and taught me many things about both your life as “canal gypsies” and England. It now saddens me to inform you that I will no longer be watching your videos. You deserve an explanation and here it is. Just recently You Tube informed me that I had to drop my Adblocker in order for me to watch the videos. I did that, and in doing so I got to watch as many as 4 ads during a video. I do not watch your videos for the ads but, as mentioned before, for the entertainment and education. That looks like a well earned drink at the end of a busy day. As you say, everything works so much better when you help single handers, you're not just helping them but you also get through quicker yourself. Why is it that swing & lifting bridges are always operated from the non-towpath side, how do single handers cope with that when the landing is on the other side? Well done 👍

Oh my goodness, that was quite a day. Favorite line, "I'm walking, got my walkie talkie". Poor Michael looked so tired and defeated when the stupid bridge lock was jammed. Absolutely fabulous video!

There’s no better feeling than a “good tired”. Drained but content. That Zen feeling when you stare in emptiness and can hardly speak. Cathartic. AND ….. you got to help folks who really needed a hand . AND… those spectacular bucolic views at every turn while basking in summer warmth. What’s not to like. A couple weeks ago, I was walking on the walkway at the river with my dog, and looked down at the shoreline, and in the mist, I thought I saw a person standing, but , much to my shock, it flew across the river, and was a huge crane, with about an 8 foot wing span! It looked so awesome, greatly resembling a Teradactyl.! I love nature! .

Thanks for taking me along on cruise. Beautiful English countryside. Outstanding 👍 I saw another boat with an awning to protect against inclement weather, is it worth it or just put on a rain jacket? Might be good for wind. For water shortage can u have camping filter for short periods of time low on water? The BULL has one name…….HAMBURGER😀🎉

The problem with the swing bridge is the same one we sometimes have when a door latch is snug from the weather seals oe something. You relieve the pressure and presto, open sesame.

Bet you wish you had room for a water filtration/purification unit on your boat. That 'Magical' View was almost something out of Arthurian Legends. Oh, I have been meaning to ask, why don't you have one of those collapsable wheelhouses on the back of your boat for inclement weather, I assume there's a *_very_* practical reason.

Evening Batman 🖐️ what a good idea, not heard of Narrowboats having those. Border Reiver did have one when she was first built but it was taken off before we bought her. They are very expensive and not practical when you’re cruising because of low bridges sadly x

HI,.why are these locks only open two days a week. Dont you pay quite abit of money to crt yearly to use the canals. Well done to everyone for helping each other out x .

Hi thanks for your comment. They were only open 3 days a week due to needing to conserve water, we’d had a long period of low rain. It often happens and as boaters we are use to it. Thanks 🙏 it was great everyone helping each other 💕💕

Once again one can see the rotten maintenance the CRT does to the cannels trees in the waters ways ready to cause a fatal accident. But this organisation could not care how many people they injury, or boats damaged as long as they pay themselves a mountain of money. This origination should be removed from the control of the cannels. It's high time a law suit is put in place to hold this organisation to account.

Hi Julie, sadly where I was walking the banking was very uneven and it was too shallow to get the boat alongside. We found an ok place to moor. Thanks for taking the time to comment xx

This CRT takes money from boaters but offers the worst service to boaters. The CRT is only interested in making the pay packets bigger and bigger. These over paid lazy organisation should be sacked as they have ruined the whole cannel system by wasting funds and paying their fat pockets.

Hi thanks for your comment we appreciate you taking the time to message us. CRT has a very difficult job to perform on a massive network, we don't envy them at all, sure it can't be easy at the best of times.
