Before Covid British Airways had an A318 with 32 flat bed business class seats that flew from London City to JFK. On the way there it stopped to refuel in Shannon Ireland where you did US CBP pre clearance and so landed as a domestic passenger and it only had 20 min check in. Was a unique service and strange to see such a small plane at the gate at JFK T7.

Love the opening. “If you’re against narrow body long haul you’re narrow minded and probably a bit stupid” couldn’t have said it better. Narrow bodies generally offer larger seat pitches in economy than widebodies. The only potential issue with A321 long haul specifically is the poor climb performance may mean on a bad weather day you’d potentially get a more turbulent and uncomfortable ride, obviously not something a wide body is immune to either the better performance and increased range gives them more options to avoid bad weather. The flight would also be a few minutes longer as the A321 is significantly slower than a wide body or 757, not that a difference of 20-30 minutes on a flight of that length would or should be a deal breaker for most people.

I took JetBlue from BOS to LGW this past Dec. The plane was sparsely occupied and people had the chance to spread out, I had a row of 3 to myself. The ride wasn't bad but the thing that got me was for a transatlantic ride and $700.00 ticket a hot meal as opposed to a cold wrap suitable for a domestic flight could've been provided. The FA's said there was no ovens on board, they seem to have eliminated that route and my trip this Dec. to LHR is on Delta. Widebody's for me but they're getting harder to get.

Airbus isn't delivering the XLR fast enough and those are the ones with the ovens so they're using that 3NS as a temporary substitute atm.

@Meowmeow-lj4sv Airbus hasn’t delivered any XLRs yet. These are just the regular NEOs. The LRs have the ovens and are operating the majority of B6’s TATL flying. EDI is going to be on the 3NL for August, LGW will be 3NS
