Narrowing A Buttonhole

4 жыл бұрынSometimes when you knit a sweater (or anything with buttonholes, really), you don't know yet WHICH buttons you will be using. While you can't easily pick a LARGER button than your buttonhole, you can choose a smaller one. You just need to adjust the size of the buttonhole to ensure that the button doesn't always pop out.

Would that also work on other fabrics? In this case, it’s a button hole on a proper pair of jeans.

Yes! Just use a thread that matches the buttonhole color, and if it's one of the jean buttonholes that is round on one side and pointy on the other, stitch the pointy end and leave the round end to hold the shank of the jeans button.
