I was interested in these but I feel like they are similar in concept to the Maybelline Ultimatte Color Sensational Matte Lipsticks and I’m really happy with that formula and the much lower price point.

Wait...my family is like yours. I didn't know families were formal until now. I love how goofy my family is. That said, I didn't realize until my teen years how strange it was for my mother to behave the way she did. She wasn't the nurturing type among other things. But the rest of my family is hella awesome. 🤗

The lipsticks all 4 colors look great on you. Your close up of your lips after 4 hours looked a little dry but that's a matte lipstick for you. Love the kiss test. Thanks for your informative video.🤖🎃👻🧡🤎💛💚🎃👻👺👽👍💯❗P.S. I love your nail color today.

I bet your family is delightful!! Our family is a mixed bag. I know my family, husband, daughter granddaughter etc are super informal and goofy and very touchy feely. I gravitated towards friends who had very happy, loving families growing up. Life is too short and we need all the silliness we can get!!❤❤

I’m really interested in these new transfer proof bullet lipstick type formulas. Dior has their formula as well that looks great. I think I’ll be picking up a few of those during the Sephora sale. I’ve seen people compare those to these and they seem to have a bit of an edge over them.

I'm also a fan of the NARS Powermatte Lip Pigments as well. Glad to see a 'stick' version of American Woman though as I love it as a pigment and wouldn't mind that shade in another formula, but still, not an immediate need even though the transfer test was very impressive. These made me wish NARS brought back their Pure Matte lipsticks, which seem similar to these, but were smaller, cost less, had a better variety of shades imo. Thanks for another honest review!

Hi Amanda. Just wanted to tell you I bought the Mac lipstick in Devoted to Chili based on your recommendation and I love it. It’s become one of my favorite lipsticks. The color is bomb for fall❤

What’s on your eyes? The lid color is like fairy light 🧚‍♀️ 🧚‍♂️ Thank you for the great review! I kinda like the packaging but the colors are not calling me necessarily. Will wait and see if they add more shades in the future!

I picked up the color Highway To Hell, and while I like it quite a bit, it’s not worth $34. I feel that NYX makes great mattes, for under $10. But, seeing American Woman on you, it’s making me really want it. I’m torn; it’s good, just expensive.

I had a formal family and I didn't realize how little we celebrated. Like anything. My husbands family has alot more excitement and I love it!

I ended up buying a Powermatte Lip Pigment in the shade Dragon Girl...just because I was too embarassed not to buy it after testing so much. Lol I've seen this lipstick one in an instagram post and was intrigued but the store has only 2 shades of it. Interesting that you prefer the lip pigments over the lipstick, the pigment transfers so easily and doesn't dry down completely on me. I was disappointed a bit, but it was a pretty color back then. I guess that is the purpose of the very bright lighting in makeup stores- make makeup appear prettier lol

I had the same experience with realizing other people's families were so formal. We're super casual at all times and I couldn't believe everyone wasn't like that!! People thought I was weird growing up because we call our aunts and uncles by their first names and not "uncle Tim" - just Tim. Never thought anything of it!

My family sounds similar to yours! I’m the oldest of three girls and when we all get together, it is LOUD. Now that we all have kids, that chaos is amplified x 1000. My husband’s family is so formal and quiet. When we ate at his grandparents house for the holidays, it was so quiet with no talking at the table. You could hear everyone chew and swallow it was so quiet 😅 I was so uncomfortable, I would take the chaos over that any day 😂

I'm curious how comfortable these feel compared to the Kaleidos lip clays? Those are about the only liquid/matte thing I can stomach on my lips and have become my gold standard for comparison 🙈 Ooh, or the Nyx lip cream?

My family...very formal. We rarely joke with each other. My friends thought my mama and I were fighting when we were just normally talking with each other.

My family is silly 💕 We will do the John Cleese silly walk in public (some slightly more embarrassed than others, though 😂). We can be loud and weird and it's wonderful! But I will say I do not speak very much with my parents 1-2-1. We have a family chat which is active most days, and I have a chat with my sisters and we speak daily. I would probably see them and talk to them more if I didn't live abroad.. I miss them. Enjoy your time with your family ❤

My mom's family is silly too. "Doing jokes mid rosary group call" kind of silly. My dad's is super formal. Once my grandma got offended that we didn't have a tablecloth on our table for a visit.

Well, I never spent "decent chunks of time at other people's houses" and didn't know that was a thing until I was an adult. My parents also hired male babysitters for their three daughters and this was back in the 1960s so that was pretty weird.

My Mom and her side of the family were very playful and informal. It was very jarring meeting my Dad's side of the family for the first time because they were really strict and formal.

These are good but I don't think they are as good as people have made out. I have had it come off quite quickly just after having one coffee. Also, the redder colours tend to be patchy... They go on lovely... Very smooth and transfer free, doesn't feel sticky... Lips do feel matte but light... but I don't think I'd buy them again.

I guess this could be a negative but my family was just super open growing up. Talked about anything and everything. So I thought it was strange when I got married and my husbands family is just very buttoned up. No profanity or discussing anything taboo like religion or politics.
