As a Swede I have to say: I love it when people try to eat surströmming! I grew up with my family eating it a couple of times a year, so the smell doesn't really bother me. Also: it's not that bad if you eat it correctly with thin bread, potatoes, sour cream and onions. You're not supposed to eat them whole either, you clean them up, remove the spine and guts, then cut it into little pieces and eat it on bread with the other things I mentioned earlier. I wouldn't want to eat a whole one either xD Super funny video though! Loved seeing the Grossman brothers on the show ;)

I am also from Sweden and eat Surströmming every year, this is not how you eat it though. You have to fillet the fish and then you put it on a piece of buttered flatbread with tomato, red onion, creme fraiche and potato and västerbottensost (a brand of cheese) then you sprinkle some chives and/or dill on it. It's fucking delicious!!!!!!!!!!!! And yeah, it also smells like sewer...
