A little compilation of nasty pitches that I put together. This video features some of the deadliest change-ups, nasty late breaking rise balls and even the world's sharpest breaking drop ball (Thrown my Miranda Viramontes of Utah)

When I played varsity baseball back in high school, I batted against a softball pitcher at their mound distance, that shit is FAST AS HELL, I didn't connect a single time. These pitches are legit, props to them.

Many don’t realize that the pitchers in softball are much closer so your reaction time is less. And then there is all that spin!

Aiden Rae an easy way out of this is to have a very early swing that is slow. If you don’t make contact that way then I don’t know what to day

That's some incredible ball control. I pitched men's fast pitch in my younger years and it is a lot of stress on your fingers and the timing is critical. These gals all do a great job.

steve b What are you talking about? Timing is equally important to the pitcher. If you release the ball late, the ball’s going high. If you release it early, it’s going low. If you want to throw a fastball high, you have to intentionally release the ball late or it’s not gonna go there. Not to mention that certain spin pitches only work if you release them at a certain spot. So of course timing is important.

steve b As a pitcher, I can tell you release point takes a long time to figure out because you have to *time* your release just right. I’ve thrown balls that are supposed to be low higher in the zone and vice versa. Most of the time it’s due to me releasing the ball too late or too early, meaning my timing was off.

Yes very effective pitch if done properly can't tell by arm speed i think they brush their hand on the leg

@@micjones1116 no, when we throw changeups we change our palm position so it faces the ground rather than the sky. thats where the change in speed comes from

My father used to pitch softball. I was at a game where the batter actually complained to the umpire that it wasn’t fair because he couldn’t see the pitches. LOL

it would spin more like a curve tho in baseball back spin is easy achievable and causes rise (as compared to a ball with no spin of the same velo) forward spin causes drop like in a curve

Nothing better than the flip change where you release the ball palm down. It fools every single batter. My daughter was an average pitcher, but man she got some crazy strikeouts with the flip. There was a D1 prospect ringer feared by all who took a massive swing and miss for strike three I remember during one game. When that same batter came back up later in the game, she hit it out of the facility - not just the field - but hey, my daughter struck out a future Olympian.

I know an All American pitcher from the 70s and she says she could never throw a drop. It's like a baseball pitcher throwing a rise ball... nobody does

I played dodgeball against a guy that threw like this and it was insane how fast and accurately he could throw a dodgeball where it glided right above the ground, im now realizing hes definitely a softball pitcher

There is something so amazingly attractive to seeing women excell in something that is completely unique to them. 😳 As someone who pitched ALOT in my life as a male I've always been mesmerized by their ability to throw like this, it's more than I could do.

I love watching softball...the underhanded accuracy of pitching just is incredible...throwing a ball overhanded is basically like pointing at your target...but underhanded, that's a science...

For all those making ignorant comments, fast pitch soft ball started during.WW II. Became competitive in "industrial league's, much like pro football. The King and His Court, a four man exhibition team, as well as others, barnstormed the country playing against full teams and usually winning. Several years ago, a female pitcher was clocked at 108 mph. Several years later a male, playing for the "King" was clocked at 111 mph. Add to that, the best can control speed as well as break the ball up or down, left or right. Try hittin' that shit.

Videos like this are very entertaining and I am impressed by how well these girls can pitch. I don’t think the music did anything for this video. Before someone says turn the volume down, I did and then I turned it off.

It certainly helps the "nasty" aspect when the umpires are calling balls "strikes," too... There are probably half a dozen calls here that are horrific.

@@Aaronjames2007 a 70mph fastpitch from 43 feet requires the same reaction time as a baseball thrown in the 90's from 60.5 feet. In the world of softball, Montana Fouts is Aroldnis. 75mph top speed, which is something like 104-105mph for a baseball pitcher. The fastest male softball pitchers throw well into the 80's, and are allowed to crow hop, which means you're now facing a pitch from something like 35 feet away.

there was always one softball pitch i couldnt hit off a girl and that was a rising ball until i turned 17 and i have finally made contact. but now i play against baseball players who pitch 80-90 mph.

Stand in just try to Giacopelli's pitch. When I saw him, he had a former major league prospect, who had previously played against him and consistently hit. He got an offer to join the team.

the changeups are good examples for explaining what the changeups mean. hard to understand the changeups work by the footage between battery of the baseball.

Luv watching that game. About a lot of movement on the ball. I remember a long time ago the King and His Court. A four man team that was a traveling circus going town to town playing the best 9 man teams around. I’d rather watch this game(we used to call it either softball or fastball)any day than MLB.
