It is an acquired skill; I was in high school when doom 2016 released and I had the drum parts for all applicable songs down before I graduated. During a pep band game (basketball) I brought my pedals from home (2 pedals to a double beater compared to the schools which was a single pedal/beater) and gave it a little extra that night. By that I mean during the JV game when the warmups are being done I was already loose so I ripped through Rip and Tear

It's not easy it takes practice n hard work like any other skill, but unlike most skills it takes a lot of coordination in your entire body n a great sense of rythem n timing.

It takes quite some time to condition your brain to not over-focus on a given aspect of playing drums, but it is a GREAT SKILL to have and really is worth all the practice!

I could've been a drummer, I was one of the few in a church congregation who could clap and stomp to some of the band's tunes, like "God is Gonna Cut You Down" by Johnny Cash. The drummer brain is wired differently, not just anyone can do it. I recommend the movie "Whiplash". Great movie about an aspiring jazz drummer and his emotionally abusive "sensei" looking his whole career for the next great.

I think this is the first drum cover I've ever seen of the doom soundtrack. I don't think I ever processed the bass changes until I saw it right now. Well done!

I actually saw one a few days ago of a Russian guy playing a drum cover out on the street, it was pretty badass edit: looking at her "About" section and it seems she's also from Russia! Hell yeah, that's pretty rad! 🤘🏻🧙🏻♂️🤘🏻

That's cause the drumming isn't very technical so there was never any real reason to put it on display. I remember seeing a guy comment on one of Mick's videos saying that the drumming in a particular song was what made the song so good and Mick commented back that he felt it was the other way around.

it's the first one because there is almost nothing to cover there... it's very basic, drummers mostly wouldn't have an interest in bothering to cover it

I just love the fact that the drums for these Doom tracks are all pretty basic, while the melody for the guitars and bass are just insanity. Awesome video, makes me want to get on my set and just have fun with some of the OST.
