There are many types of agriculture, but they can be grouped into two large groups: commercial agriculture, which includes intensive agriculture and livestock farming, as well as extensive fallow and fallow type agriculture and pasture farming; traditional consumer agriculture, which includes more backward plough and hoe farming, pasture livestock nomadic and semi-nomadic farming, as well as gathering, hunting and fishing. In economically developed countries, the first type of agriculture prevails. Its transformation (increasing yields by breeding new varieties, expanding irrigation, etc.) and the creation of an agribusiness system (processing, storage, transportation, marketing, production of machinery and fertilizers along with the production of agricultural products) gives the agriculture of developed countries an industrial character. A new type of production has appeared - highly mechanized large farms and factories, efficient but harmful to nature. / In developing countries, low-commodity agriculture prevails, mainly crop production, represented by small farms that usually provide food for the family. Slash-and-burn agriculture is also maintained in this sector. Some developing countries also have large commercial farms and plantations. They are usually located in the most favorable places for the cultivation of a particular culture and are often more oriented towards the external rather than the domestic market.
