The whole bridge sequence is cool but at the same time, it also summarizes the whole movie plot. Ram's mission is regarding the country (jumps with a Flag) and Bheem's mission is to save the child from his tribe (jumps to get the child) and in this journey they exchange their missions (exchange of flag and child) and eventually succeed helping each other. As someone from their native industry, the culture is different there and fans of one actor are extremely hostile against other actor. It’s not a matter of budget or dates it’s about how to portray both of them equally good without making one better, that is the challenge. If any other director other than SSR made it and messed up in making them equally good, it is even possible that could be end of their career it’s that serious. Even after this movie released fans of Ram and Bheem continued to attack each other.

@@SD-in2mv The culture in Telugu states is way different compared to Bollywood (I think it is similar in Tamil industry too), the people are crazy about their movies and actors, refer them as Demi-gods, celebrates their birthdays as festivals with donations and puja. All that is probably why Tollywood movies collect a lot, Nizam a sub region of one of the Telugu states, Telangana collects 10+ cars on first just from there alone. But just like you mentioned the actors are friends among themselves and quite frequently reiterate their friendship among themselves and asks the fans to not fight among themselves, some actors refer to each other as bhaiya and jaan as well, some are that close but so called “Fan wars” keep on happening

The amazing thing about this movie is the re-watchability. Every time you see it, you'll notice many new things, from the small details to the director's intention behind the scene. For example, the flaming carriage may seem unnecessary, but it was actually to ward off all the wild animals. This was alluded in the earlier scene where Bheem ward off the animals with the fire during his entrance.

It's incredibly rare that they aren't dubbed. I'm no expert by any means but I have seen probably at least 200 Indian films over the past few years and I'm only aware of 2 songs (not films, songs) that weren't dubbed. The playback singers are stars in their own right and getting a famous one for a film increases its draw. I velieve Arjit Singh and Shreya Goshal are the "biggest ones" right now, if you care to look up videos of them singing.

It's been "R-R-R" every time I've heard it referred to. "Rise Roar Revolt" isn't actually what it stands for, that's just a tagline that came later. There is this film from Telugu called "Mahanati" (2018) which is based on the real life story of legendary actress Savitri. She was so popular during the 50s and 60s in such a way that the actors were waiting for her call sheets. Basically she has ruled the tollywood film industry for approximately 15 years. Bad marriage and alcohol addiction has led to her downfall. The film is a rollercoaster and shows her rise to stardom, personal struggles and eventual downfall. This film could be compared to the English film "La Vie En Rose" released in 2007.

Dialogue is very important in a film and the language the film is made in sets the tone. This is not about North or South at all. It’s an Indian film made in Telugu. I think we can say Hindi is also almost the original language for this movie. The main characters did dubbing in Hindi themselves and the other two main characters(Ram's dad and seeta) were speaking Hindi originally, they later dubbed it in Telugu. The songs were also remade in Hindi. which are equally good. It should be watched in Telugu, if not, Hindi dubbed is a good option too. I can't say same about other dub versions. Only the hindi one is closest.

@@rahulj.005 The film was made in Telugu and the actors lip sync with Telugu. Alia bhat learnt Telugu to get the lip sync right and Ajay devgn was given a gibberish words that will suit the lip sync for Telugu as he was unable to learn Telugu like Alia. Well both JrNtr and RC dubbed in Hindi as well but Telugu being their mother tongue will have better delivery with dialogues. I speak Kannada but I still watched Telugu version for better experience, same with Baahubali as well. Yes you are right if Telugu version is not available then Hindi would be next best option. Generally speaking, Indian cinema is a wildly different beast compared to other films. Often times, songs are equally as hyped as the films themselves, with songs usually releasing ahead of the movie. I grew up in a multi-lingual household regularly watching both Indian (usually Hindi and Tamil, with some Telugu) and Hollywood movies simultaneously. P.S.: If you are ever interested in diving into more Indian movies (regardless of privately or as a reaction), I highly urge you to start with the following movies: KANDUKONDAIN KANDUKONDAIN (a Tamil-language adaptation of SENSE AND SENSIBILITY), 3 IDIOTS, LAGAAN, DIL CHAHTA HAI, and all the films directed by Mani Ratnam (NAYAKAN, THALAPATHI (1991), and DIL SE are great places to start).

This film has my heart like no other, words fail me & fall short in expressing how much I love it & enjoy it, and how my heart is captured forever by Ram Charan ❤ I related to your reaction to him at the end BIG time 😂, I’m so happy your appreciated it Natalie, yours was the best attentive reaction, so I wanted to share with you some trivia from IMDB that makes you appreciate it even more and it’s depth . “The bridge and the Naatu Naatu scenes are both miniature reflections of the larger movie as a whole, during the bridge scene , Bheem (Akhtar) rescues the boy from under the burning bridge , while Ram (Raju) Carrie’s the 1905 Indian flag with the inscription “Vande Mataram “ (praise mother India) this coincides with the larger movie, because Bheem’s main objective is to rescue Malli, while Ram is out to rescue the whole nation, similarly l, the structure of The Naatu Naatu dance scene represents the movie as a whole Raju ( Ram ) and Akhtar (Bheem) start out as brothers, then have to compete with each other, and finally culminate to Raju yielding to allow Akhtar to win the dance sequence, this coincides with the movie as a whole because they become friends, then they fight (not knowing that they both have similar goals)and finally Ram yields his goal of sending British weapons back to his village in order to save Bheem (Akhtar) and consequently be captured by the British” if you see a video of the director S S Rajamouli on YT breaking down Naatu Naatu song on vanity fair channel, which I highly recommend, you’ll hear him say this. “At the end of the film Ram (Raju) gives the rifle to Bheem (Akhtar) and had Bheem shoot governor Scott, at first, this seems illogical, because Bheem’s goal was to rescue Malli, and Ram’s goal was to rescue the nation, Bheem’s goal was already realized whether or not it was Bheem or Ram who killed governor Scott, it would seem more logical if Bheem were to help Ram realizing his own goal of freeing India from the British control. The reason why Ram allowed Bheem to kill governor Scott can be seen in the two “Don’t eat with your left hand “ scenes, the first of them during the Dosti song when Ram gets sad after seeing Bheem eating with his left hand, because he is reminded of his younger brother who was killed by the British and it is revealed during the flashback sequence during the second half of the film that his brother too had the habit of eating with his left hand , Ram’s younger brother was killed by the British but these two scenes represent that Bheem is Ram’s new brother, Ram allowing Bheem to shoot governor Scott in the end is actually Ram’s revenge against the British for killing his blood brother. “

Hell yeah! Love this movie. It's about as subtle as a sledgehammer and I love every second of it. Just every single beat going 'what are the 10 COOLEST POSSIBLE THINGS these people could do??' and then doing all of them together in seconds. For 3 hours. Love it. I was one of the people who might've kept shouting this suggestion at you in stream chat, so it's awesome to finally see it :) Now if only you'd watch ANDOR, winkwink. (No seriously, it's absolutely phenomenal. I'm largely burnt out on Star Wars, basically since the prequels it's either incredibly cynical fanservice or VERY flawed attempts to innovate - but ANDOR does both at once, NEARLY perfectly. The way the WGA (and soon maybe also SAG and DGA) strike is going, you'll need stuff to watch for a WHILE. I'd add this to the absolute top of the list.) Also, RIP Ray Stevenson!

One thing I couldn't stop wondering while watching RRR is...how do British people still manage any sense of patriotism? I mean in how many movies are the British portrayed as huge colonial asshats? I mean the guilt over slavery, Jim Crow and Vietnam (among other things) we have in the USA is insane. But there are so many historical action movies where the British are just portrayed as the worst kind of people. I mean not just this movie but there are countless Chinese and American movies where the British are treated the same way. I'm not saying that modern British people should feel bad, but...man, that colonial period just is never a good look.

Holy shit, condensing 3 hours into less than 38 minutes has to be one of Camaron best performances Honestly missed the whipping scene, but some scenes have to be cut regardless of how important they are I guess But hey, longer videos are the best, and I would really liked a longer one for this one, considering the length of the original material But I digress, my point is that this was well summarized, great job!

I love how so many things add up in this movie. Like, how Raj displayed so much upper-body strength during the prison escape - because he spent the whole time doing pull-ups. :D 21:48 - If I recall correctly, his brother also had a habit of eating with the wrong hand, which Beem also had a habit of doing. So Raju had a subtle reaction while eating with Beem that one time. 28:42 - While Rama Raju is established to be an expert marksman, this part brings it to mythical levels and fully links him to the major Hindu deity Rama (same name as the character, and also has a wife named Sita). So the otherwordly feats shown in the film aren't too unexpected since the whole thing is basically an epic in a more modern setting. 23:15 - Raj's uncle was also in the police force, but didn't rise to a high enough position so they needed Raj to do it.

White English person here, and a proud patriot for what England CAN be at times. If you know the history of what we did to India (and lots of other places), you should feel shame. We committed genocides and war crimes for decades. The only reason we held onto India was because we had better weapons than them. Yeah, we built railroads and schools and wells and so on, but that was for England's benefit because that made ruling more convenient. The Indian characters in this movie have my sympathy, not the English ones. The really gross part is that if English technology was paired up with the Indian labour pool and culture as trading partners, we could have achieved amazing things together - as it is, the English language is full of Indian words and ideas, and we have adopted a lot of their foods. England now has huge Indian enclaves, especially in the more northern towns. Anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed the movie, even if you totally ignore the social message, it's a really cool action drama.

Nice to see Americans enjoy what we in the east (middle east in my case 😂) grew up watching and loving from our parents and their parents. The over the topness and musical number is something that all Indian movies have and we’re extremely familiar with and never disappointed by. Plus the themes and lessons and values are nothing new for us it’s in our culture that the men are men and the same goes for the women and is something that the west desperately needs to understand

Pretty sure that the guy Raju had to shoot with the explosives as a child wasn't his dad. I was a bit confused the first time too, and I think it's mostly because his mom says "our son", but she doesn't mean hers and the rebels leader's. She means herself and the man who is next to her who gets shot first. Raju still had to watch his whole family die that day: his dad first, then his younger sibling, then his mom. The rebels leader is actual seetha's dad.
