Alicia, this is the best Metropolis review yet! Your research on the purpose of the layout was so helpful. But your last 3-4 minutes nailed it for me. Yes there may be some shades "similar" to others in ND palettes, but to have her curate them for me is key! I do not want to pull out 4 palettes to "try" to pull looks together when ND has done it for me. (And I am a visual artist!) Also, your looks were stunning! Superb!! I will be getting during the next Sephora sale....IF I can wait that long! LOL.

@@BrownGirlBella I don't have either of the large 28 pans or the Sunrise/Sunset palettes, so this would be a wonderful combo! I do have the Gold palette and it is a stunner! And you're right....those greens...OH those greens!

@Shelly Hubel, I do not have any of the large 29 pan palettes, but I do own Sunrise and Safari as well as a few of the minis and some of the larger pan palettes that are around $48. Even though I have Sunrise and I was intrigued by Gold, I wanted something with more variety and this nailed it. The tones in this palette, while similar to some in my Sunrise palette are not the same and are more subtle. I am sure I will be picking this one up but will wait a few more days for it to land in the store since I am one that needs to see and touch the formula before I buy a palette. I know a swatch will not tell me how a shadow will lay down and blend on the eyes, I want to see the tones on my skin first. Lynn

This palette is very Art Deco. If you look up posters from that period, you will see this color scheme. There’s actually a film called metropolis, the poster for that movie is gold, bronze and black so she was dead on with the color story. Art Deco is about architecture and structure, I think it would be cool to use the palette in a way that reflects that. But I’m a dorky graphic designer having a moment. 🤣

Ooooooooooo I would love to see you make that happen!!! Yes, when I pulled up the images I was like, YEP! This is dead on. I saw Metropolis in high school 🤣 I didn’t understand it then, but now I do. And there’s another Metropolis poster where there’s turquoise and gold.

I’m actually surprised how lovely the palette looks swatched vs how it looks in the promo pictures. It looks far more gorgeous in natural light, and I feel the orange / warm shades don’t feel as over saturated? Thank you for your review! I know it can come across as you splitting hairs, but honestly I really like this as a beginner palette. Plus I’m glad she’s mirroring the price point and sizing of the Sunrise palette, I feel it’s a great step to expand her brand.

Yes! It’s crazy how different makeup can look under studio lights versus natural light. And. I agree it looks pow wow in person. It’s great that she’s continuing to take on this pan sized because it really is more cost friendly to a wider scope of consumers.

Wow, the mattes just melt into the skin and blend themselves! And I love that the blend is seamless but the colors don’t get muddy. I live for you announcing the Sonia G brushes 😂 ❤️

I have not yet reached the demo part, but I wanted to give you feedback right away: you have a gift with seeing and describing colors, all I hear I totally agree with, and also...funny enough, before watching your video, I was like... maybe not this palette, but every single one of your swatches yields a beau-ti-ful color, I could literally stare at each swatch for 5 minutes !!! Hey Alicia, This is by far the most informative review on this palette that I have & probably will see. I bought this palette on launch day and I couldn't agree with everything that you said more. I have only bought & used Natasha Denona's mini palettes, so Metropolis is my first full size & I'm obsessed. Your looks from this video have completely inspired me. Thank you girl!

Thank you so much for the detailed review on this palette as well as the different eyeshadow looks. Dirty Olive..😂 is a gorgeous shade. At first I thought I didn't need this one just because I already have the Gold palette but, I see that the colors are different enough that I could still get it.
