I am a 67 year old female, but I just love listening and watching the 4 of you. I really want to comment on the losing weight issue. I have done all the diets. ALL OF THEM. I lose the weight and it slowly comes back on. Right now I'm doing intemittent fasting (the 16/8) and losing 1 to 2 pounds a week and after the first couple of weeks, it's super easy.....and I have given up NOTHING! I figure if I can lose 52 pounds in one year, I'm good. Also, Nate I had to laugh at my husband the other day when he said let's do all our errands "in one fell swoop". Can you tell he's a fan too?

Hello folks and Hey Balthazar! I’m a pretty sizable guy. I’m 6’2” and easily 315lbs. About 15 minutes into todays podcast, right as you guys were talking about how you need to have a better relationship with food and it can be a hard habit to break, I bumped into my steering wheel and spilled my gas station biscuits and gravy all over the cup holders and center console of my truck. I think that was my wake up call to try and form a better relationship with food and break the biscuit and gravy before work habit!

The first 15 mins hit hard as someone struggling with sugar addiction and almost 6 years sober.. it's so similar. Then when Nate said that food shouldn't be the fun, food is the fuel to go have fun. wow. That's exactly what alcohol was for me too. I thought I needed it for fun, that it was fun. Now I know that I don't need it, life is much better without it and I am happier and more confident than I ever was drinking. Now if I can kick this sugar habit, things would be great!

Hello Folks! And Happy Belated Birthday, Nate! I just started listening to the podcast a few months ago and I’m trying to cram in as many episodes as I can, bouncing from old to new. You guys make my day go by so much faster and you put a smile on my face. I don't really like pranks because I don't like getting pranked… I’m pretty tender-hearted. - When my big brother was a senior in high school, his friend called for me from the driveway. I thought it would be a Romeo and Juliet moment as I came to the window of my second story bedroom, but instead he mooned me. It broke my 14 yr old heart. - My orthodontist wired my mouth shut at an appointment one time as a prank. I had a mild panic attack, but he cut the wires before I left. So, when he told me on April Fools Day that I was getting my braces off after 4 and a half years, I didn’t believe him. I cried tears of joy. - My son likes to seek me out just to fart on me. He will run from whatever room he’s in or come inside to “hug” me, then turns around, lets one go, and runs away laughing. It still hurts my feelings! He's 11 and has been doing this since he could walk. Keep spreading kindness, boys. And Nate, thank you for adding another show in Springfield, IL! My husband and I are looking forward to a rare date night. Sending much love your way ❤

I’m almost caught up to you guys! You probably don’t read the comments on past shows but I wanted to add a cupcake note. My 30 year old daughter taught me to split the cupcake in half, flip the top upside down so the icing is in the middle, and eat it like a sandwich. Not as messy and it’s the only time I’ve ever eaten an entire cupcake! Try it! It’s great! Great show!

I’m currently a youth pastor and was a high school math teacher before that. One of my favorite parts of both jobs is messing with the minds of teenagers. One day, a girl walks into my math class talking about the Garth Brooks concert she had gone to over the weekend. I say, “Who is Garth Brooks?” She goes, “He’s a really famous country singer. You seriously don’t know who he is?” I go, “Nope, sorry.” Dumbfounded, she begins to tell me all about his music. Eventually I say, “Well, I guess I’m just standing outside the fire on this one.” She goes, “THAT’S ONE OF HIS SONGS!” I’m like, “No way, seriously!? That’s crazy. What are the odds?” So she talks for a few more minutes about Garth Brooks, then it’s time to get started with class. To wrap up the Garth conversation, I say, “Well, the thunder rolls.” Again, she freaks out. “THAT’S ANOTHER ONE OF HIS SONGS!” Everyone in the class knew I was messing with her, except her. Pretty sure she never figured it out. It was great.

Hey Bear: You looked great at 160 in Hello World (watched it 5x already). But at 185, Dude, did you ever meet a donut you didn’t like? Yes, you CAN drop the extra tonnage before Red Rocks (fab venue, BTW!). Get back to regular running and eat healthy foods. Make up your mind to be 160 before RR concert. Don’t think of it as dieting. Think of it as healthy eating. You’re making bank these days, so hire a nutritionist. I know people who’ve lost weight by eating more food - the right food at the right time in the right amount.
Warning, guilt trip coming: Don’t do it for you, do it for those two in your Girl World. Part of treasuring them is treasuring the health God gave you. Be a faithful steward of your body. You will feel better physically, mentally and spiritually. Do it! .... Love your comedy. It ain't crazeee. It's dryly cerebral, the best kind. Happy Birthday!

As always with this amazing crew, listening to y'all discuss a topic I'm knowledgeable about is quite painful but always entertaining! About the rocket taking off and coming back, SpaceX has 2 kinds of rockets. The one Nate saw was a Falcon 9, it takes off from Florida but then the booster (what you guys call "rocket", you could name it the "first engine" to make it easier) lands far off land on a ship in the Atlantic Ocean so Nate couldn't have seen it, even if he had waited for 9 minutes. The other rocket SpaceX has is the Falcon Heavy and these boosters come back down at Cape Canaveral where it launched from but they only use it once every few years. And to answer Bubble Juice's question, the top part of the rocket keeps going up because it also has an engine (you could call that the "second engine")! The big one that lands is only the first engine of the rocket and is there to give the whole thing enough power to go up towards space before it detaches and comes back, leaving the payload on its way with its smaller engine.

The prank that has stuck around in my mind the longest was from way back at a Bible camp in the middle of nowhere in South Dakota. A small group of us boys decided to prank all of the girls, framing one of the most mean boys at the camp at the same time. We had one of our moms pick up a pack of brand new tighty whiteys, then walked around with them on our feet for a little bit to get them a little more weathered looking. We melted individual Hershey chocolate packets and squirted a dab of chocolate into the back of each pair, rubbing it in so that it looked like skid marks. Finally we added the initials “A.G.” to the waistband of each pair (these were the initials of one of the other boys who was a constant antagonizer to all of the other campers), and snuck out during chapel to place the underpants all over the girls’ dorm. The shrieks when the girls got back to their dorms after lunch were hilarious, but the fact that the kid we framed actually got in trouble for it was priceless. We did come clean before he would have been punished, but I will never forget the look on his face when the girls were all screaming at him.

When I was in high school, our senior pranks would be against our homecoming rivals. The seniors from our rival school took a small yellow school bus, cut it in half, wrapped it around a tree in our quad and welded it together. For our comeback, we had put 500 lbs of manure into there brand new pool.

One of the best pranks I’ve ever heard done was a radio show (Free Beer and Hot Wings) that talked about an Ivy League study, saying only geniuses or extremely high IQ people can hear this specific sound frequency. Then they played five seconds of radio silence. The amount of callers and textures to the show that said they had to pull over because it was so loud or that their ears hurt and they were forced to shut off the radio was just pure gold. They broke the news to the listeners later and said that they didn’t play anything just to get the reaction but some people still double down and said they could hear something.

Just saw Nate with my girlfriend in Raleigh and it was phenomenal . She was weirded out a bit at first considering I am Latino and she is Indian and walking to our seats some guy behind us said real loud “Learn the goddamn language” . We were talking to each other in English and I turned around to make eye contact with the guy who just looked at me and her weird …. When Dustin came on and asked if there were any Muslims in the house , she was the solitary “WOO” in the crowd … thankfully , the show was so amazing still and we both felt so comfortable laughing our hearts out , that we ended the night with huge smiles on our faces ! Thanks Nate and thanks to Mr Bargatze who might be my girlfriends favorite magician ever now , you guys are the best .!

Freshman year in college, I was the only non-athlete on my dorm floor that was full of football players. The people next door always had a fan in their window because the dorm didnt have AC. My roommate was always asleep at weird hours so I took his baby powder and squeezed it out the window into the neighbors window with a fan and it sucked it all in. I could hear them coughing and rushing out in the hall. I'd jump in bed and pretend to sleep and theyd come running in and wake up my roommate and thought he was pretending to sleep. I did this at least once a week for a month or two before they caught on that it was me. I wasn't a football player so they never suspected me. They thought it was awesome and we ended up pranking most people in the hall cause no knew me since I wasnt on the team, so I was unassuming and I could get by with a lot! Great year!!

Wow, Aaron's story about how his mom cleaned up the TP prank before the pranksters came back around is EXACTLY what I did (but just once). A friend of my daughter's TP'd the house and trees. One of my other daughters noticed it and told me. I quickly grabbed a broomstick and was able to get every single piece down in record time. Crucial point: It was about 10 minutes before a massive downpour, which would've made the TP prank a "masterpiece" as the wet TP would've stuck to everything. I knew they'd come back after the rain to see their masterpiece, so I waited by the window with lights off. Sure enough, they did come back. They drove by very slowly... even stopped for a second... then drove on. Chalk one up for the old man... and several for Mrs Weber! Love this podcast!

I was just reminded of when I pranked both my little brother and my pastor during an Easter service 10 years ago. During the sermon my pastor very somberly asked the rhetorical question, “why did Jesus die on the cross?” In a moment of poor judgement I nudged my little brother and whispered to him to say “to get to the other side!” The little guy blurted it out as loudly as he could and stopped the message dead in its tracks. The pastor was very gracious with us afterwards, but I haven’t felt as happy and guilty in one moment as that Sunday.

One of the best senior pranks I’ve heard of - seniors in a farm town let 4 pigs loose in the school. But before they let them loose, they rubbed them with grease (so they were hard to catch) and numbered them with marker with #1, #2, #3, and #5 - Eric Costanzo (descendent of the Costanzo mafia)

My husband worked for Space X at Vanderberg Space Force in Lompoc CA and he worked at the launch pad for Falcon 9. He was there when they started landing the rocket back on the pad. There are 2 and 3 stages to the launch. One being when the payload (usually satellites from different countries) detaches from the rocket. After that is when the rocket comes back down.

Does the gang know that spring doesn’t begin in April all over the world? In the Southern Hemisphere Spring starts in September. So if the new year started at the start of spring, there’d still be April fools.

I remember my senior year of high school, my class let a chicken run around the school and my principal caught him. He brought the chicken to the auditorium for our senior assembly and named him “Bob the chicken”. Our class never got in trouble because our principal was retiring that year. Love the podcast and I’m excited to see Nate in Hershey!

It’s amazing that Nate, Brian and Dusty have no idea that rockets come off of the spacecraft. It’s almost as bad as Aaron thinking corn grew on trees.

In high school, two of my friends had the same car, like an old Carola or something. Somehow, their keys worked on each other's car. One day at lunch, one of them used their key to move the others car to a completely different part of the parking lot so when the other friend came out for his lunch the car was gone. Still makes me laugh 15 years later

I'd like to start by saying this was not MY senior class, I was a junior when this happened. I was in a Human Anatomy class and the last part of this class was us dissecting cats. There were seniors in this class with me and when we finished with our cats, the senior boys in the class volunteered (rather enthusiastically) to be the ones that took the cats to the dumpster. Apparently they left them in a safe spot that no one would find and came back overnight and when we got to school the next morning there were dissected cats all over the science building's roof. Needless to stay, that teacher was NOT happy and those boys ended up not walking at graduation.

I use to wait tables. One time a new bus boy got hired and I introduced myself and asked him how things were going. 2 hours later I repeated this. I then had another server tell him I had short term memory loss. I kept this up every shift for 6 months until I quit never telling him. I told Him to watch this episode of nateland in hopes that he’ll learn the truth in true nix novicki style.

On the topic of Nate regretting not letting John get into the wrong car... my wife and I were near our friend's apartment complex and she wanted to pop in. I HIGHLY encouraged it...after her knocking several times they were unfortunately not there...because they moved across town and she forgot. I just wish the new tenants would have answered just to see that exchange! April Fools Day will also be 16 yrs being together & Nate's past Wilmington, NC show was our baby moon for our first, so we're doing something right...we laugh together everyday...thanks for being a part of it!

A family friend of mine grew up in a small town in Idaho and for his senior prank, him and his friends let a bunch of cows into the school. Needless to say it got out of hand. instead of just walking the halls like they thought the cows would, the cows freaked out, pooped all over floors, trashed lockers and ruined the new gym floor that had just been installed a few weeks before. The group of boys were all arrested and although charges were dropped, had to pay fines and came very close to not graduating. The prank got so much attention that it was even mentioned on the tonight show with Jay Leno.

Big fan here. When I saw the subject this week my eyes lit up! I was arrested the morning of April Fools my Senior Year of High School during morning family Bible study. Small town, my dad was a Bishop in our church, and I snuck out, picked up my friends, and went to the school. The idea of our prank was to chain the doors of the school shut from the inside, and we hoped that school would get cancelled the following day because nobody would be able to get in. Instead I got suspended for a week and had to do 20 hours of community service. They caught me because I was driving the Bishop's car and parked at a local bar. A cop saw the car that night, recognized it was out of place, and called my dad to come and get it. When the teachers couldn't get into the school the next day they called the cops, and the cops did the math and came knocking at my house. The school then invested in security cameras, and my prank now lives on in infamy. How was I supposed to know to not park at a bar?

Aaron is 100% correct. The rocket booster detaches as it reaches a specific altitude. The booster comes back down and lands on the ground. The "top half" of the rocket with the payload continues into space to deliver the satellites.

In high school our senior pranks got a little out of hand. Brick thrown through glass, tree planted on football field. Cops were called in. I was involved some of it. I was also the student government president and had to meet with the principal to discuss how we’d find out who did it

My favorite prank is when I'm driving and I see 2 people riding bikes or walking, I start waving very emphatically. They both slowly raise their arms and start waving back very hesitantly and confused. My favorite part is thinking about the conversation they are having afterwards. "Who is that??" "I don't know. I thought they YOU knew them." hahah
