Tag lines to explain Nateland: #1: If Wikipedia had a podcast. #2: Where the over and under educated meet. #3: If the 3 stooges and dumb & dumber had a baby. #4: If hooked on phonics had a podcast. #5: If Michael Scott, Toby, and Oscar had a podcast. Keep up the great work! I love it no matter how it’s explained.

Episode 8 on “Marriage”, Nate has never been more sure of anything in his life when he declares, “Oprah is the most famous person alive!” (1:57:17)… Fast forward to today and Nate spends 4 and a half minutes squabbling with Aaron and Benjamin Button about how there’s no way Oprah is the most famous person alive. Well, well, well. How the turntables... Love it.

@@barlowwe Why, thank you. Love the show, but I’m still catching up on the episodes… and I have to admit, this was almost too easy. When this week’s episode finished, KZfaq automatically played Episode 8 next. It was like following a driver, who can’t figure out which lane they need to be in, go back and forth.

As a speech-language pathologist working at a specialized stuttering facility, I have to say I really appreciated this episode. I genuinely feel like my best work is done on Wednesdays, as if I'm already primed by listening to this chaotic mess of a podcast before helping others with speech, language, and communication difficulties. Thanks for the laughs and small highlight to our field! PS - I am currently taking new clients if either Nate or Barracuda (for the nose whistling) are interested. Love the podcast keep up the great work!!

I appreciate the insight on callbacks. I think there's a big difference between callbacks from 2 months ago and a callback from 15 minutes ago. I think what makes a callback great is that it's meant to be a surprise that triggers a memory, it hits that same part of that brain that holds nostalgia. When that idea or subject is still on the audience's minds rather than a distant memory, it doesn't have the same affect. I think comedy in general is a fine line between having a new idea and making that idea familiar enough to trigger a memory. I think callbacks are like anything in comedy, any subject, any technique, any trick: It's okay to do as long as it's done well.

Hello Folks! Nate, Bubba Burger & Aaron - you are real-life heroes, saving dozens of 3-generation dysfunctional families with opposing political views stuck in minivans traveling to Mt. Rushmore for summer vacation, all across the world! 21 Nateland episodes from Chicago & back, and we couldn’t have survived without you - even laughed once or twice. Much Love & Many Thanks to Y’all, A, W, C & K PS - your US Presidents episode aired perfectly in time for our Mt. Rushmore trip, to which my mom, a kindergarten teacher, had the quintessential teacher-mom response: “We didn’t learn very much about presidents.” (I disagree.) After 21 episodes, she gets it and is a true Folk now. ❤️

As someone who has been into the British monarchy for over 40 years, it was so so so hard for me to listen to you guys discuss all this! Usually I don’t have any problem listening because I know about as little as you guys do about the subject of the day, but in this case, knowing as much as I do about the topic, the conversation drove me crazy! Geez, at the very least, you all could’ve watched The Crown on Netflix! BTW Brian, Elizabeth did not become queen in 1956, she became queen when her father died in 1952 and was crowned at her coronation the following year in 1953. It also drove me insane that Aaron said M.A.S.H. took place in Vietnam!!! Aaron, M.A.S.H. took place in the early 1950s in KOREA, not in Vietnam (though to be fair that war started almost immediately after Korea). The more you know. 🙂But this is still the podcast I love best of all the podcasts to which I listen. Well done, you! (That’s British for “Great job!”) 😉

The I-40 bridge in Memphis going over the Mississippi River is shut down completely both directions because of a massive break in one of the support beams. Want to lose weight? Just fast for one hour for every time Nate adjusts his mic (like at 11:56 and 20:05 and about a billion other times) , Aaron leans over in his chair laughing (15:37), or Barry avoids eye contact while talking to Nate (15:58). You probably won't eat for 12 and a half days.

Not many podcasts can fit the word defenestration into the conversation. Nice job Aaron!

When you guys said you didn't know anything about the royal family I was sure you knew more than you though...I've been listening for a while how am I surprised by how little you know on any subject. Great episode but I was disappointed that Nate's mom wasn't a guest expert. I definitely had my hopes up when I saw the topic. Coming to see Nate in NC in September. We cannot wait!
