When I saw “Brian’s Big News” I immediately thought it was a joke, but still had to skim the entire episode worried before I listened to see if the big news was Brian leaving. I didn’t know how much Big News Bates meant to me until I was confronted with the thought of losing him Edit*: Now that I have listened, It is in fact awesome news. Not sure why I assumed Brian's Big News was immediately something bad.

My best friend Joe's dad was 50 when Joe was born. He was a great and loving father, and on the plus side, his lack of control of his gas and other such old people shenanigans made for comedy gold, and he wasn't even a comedian. Biff is gonna be a great dad and make a lot of his daughter's friends laugh! Congrats! I may have teared up a little when you gave the news.

Can’t wait for y’all to have Baby Ruth on the April 13th episode of the podcast! I’ll keep y’all in my prayers for a safe pregnancy and I’ll be sure to mention the stroke situation. I just got back from the Grand Canyon with my wife and we hiked into the canyon 2.75 miles before turning around for steep climb back. That was tiring so I can't imagine hiking 4 miles into the canyon all while dealing with gout. Aaron truly is an inspiration.

Congrats Bran Flakes!!! I have listened to every episode of Nateland; getting me through countless house and yard projects and now a recent surgery where I am stuck at home not able to talk at all and just waiting for the Wednesdays when a new show drops. I have never tuned in to KZfaq to actually “see” the podcast but when I heard this news I had to pull it up to see the visual to match the pure love and excitement from Nate and Aaron that I heard in my AirPods. Thank you for a great surprise! Surprises are rare and special and seeing this unfold was the best!

I just got home from seeing Nate's fantastic show it Champaign Il and sat down to catch up on the latest podcast. When I heard Brian's news and their reactions, I burst into happy tears! As a mom of 2 daughters, I can tell you having a daughter is an amazing blessing! Congrats breakfast on your baby girl, Nate on a hilarious show and Aaron on sharing his dream of owning a walk in cooler! Love the podcast!

Hey guys, listen, as someone who actually had a stroke at the age of 50, I have to say your opening comments were HILARIOUS. A big reason for my stroke was the stress of taking things too seriously. You guys ran in the complete opposite direction. If my left side still worked, I'd applaud you.

Hello folks! I just saw Nate in Minneapolis at the State Theater with my girlfriend Anne. It was our second time seeing you; we took a road trip to the Cleveland Drive-in show. Thank you for another fantastic show! The openers were excellent as well. It was a thrill to meet Nate after the show and he was friendly and engaging. Which must be a little tough after all the traveling and having a second show coming up. Please visit us again, maybe during the spring/summer when you can get some golf in. While listening to this episode it reminded me of my funniest experience performing. I rap, & while doing ministry with a local church in Memphis I was asked to perform a set at an outdoor event at a park in the community. The pastor introduced me & called me up to the microphone & then proceeded to pray for the meal & told everyone they could get in line to eat. So I had to perform for people who had no idea who I was while they were all in line for food. The lines were going the other direction, so they weren't even facing me. I had to rap to people in line for food with their backs to me. However the story doesn't stop there. A random man came up to me in the middle of a song & said he had something he had to say. I assumed this was someone helping with the event that had to make an announcement or something, so I handed him the microphone. He then started yelling out incoherent propaganda against the church & their ministry. The pastor then ran up to the stage & got the microphone back & told me I couldn't give it to anyone else. I LOVE the fact that when Aaron said he'd love a walk in cooler I thought "heck yeah I could have steaks, meats, ketchup...all of those things on shelves, so much better than a fridge" and he just wanted it so he can hang out in there to cool off...no mention of food storage. So funny. Nate I just got sweet seats to the Seattle show for myself, wife and 2 teen daughters. Can't wait. I'm sure you don't really struggle to find guys to golf with but if you need a fourth and want to check out Chamber's Bay I happen to be free that day. Keep up the great work fellas...you are a silly light in a world with lots of negative and it's so refreshing.

Hey Nate Aaron and Brisk tea zero sugar, thanks for the laughs all the way thru these trying times. Our dog Duke went blind a year ago and whenever he will bump into anything we’d get sad but always one of us would break the tension with “he can’t see out of those eyes no more, that’s the cards he was dealt” it truly helps keeping us laughing. But now since he’s totally blind he’s applying for a coordinator job at Notre dame. Not really sure why I went after Aaron rather than Vandy with that one huh? So, I’ve been watching since the beginning (went back to 1 so I could be considered a real fan) and when Bland shared the news he was having a baby I teared up! So awesome! It was then quickly followed by Aaron aggressively slapping Bland on the side that hadn’t gone numb from the stroke followed by the most awkward and whitest above head clapping from Aaron I have ever seen. My friend came into choir class and told me a hilarious dream that he had. In his dream he was put on a stage in front of a live audience and told to do 7 minutes of standup comedy. However, before he started they put a VR headset on him and made him play a very graphic and violent round of Call of Duty. He was crying when they took off the headset and still made him do stand up in front of the crowd.

Aside from Barney's announcement itself, watching Nate and Aaron say 'Do you really??!!!??' in unison was the best part of the episode. Congrats Brian and Ruth!

It might have been because of some sort of recency bias, but I think it was hilarious that after talking about Nate's limited vocabulary, and after Nate's own celebrating of the fact that he greatly reduced his use of 'uh,' there appeared to be a barrage of 'uh's to finish out the podcast. The biggest 'uh's of all coming seconds after this discussion @ 1:32:39 & 1:34:52, and then a blistering wrap up full of uh's to finish out the episode beginning @ 1:46:34. Seriously though, I loved it all. You guys are the best. Letttttts Goooooo!!!!

I turn 50 on nov. 19! I had those symptoms a year ago too Brian, especially the face numbness. Then, in the middle of the night had a heart attack. Obviously I survived but it turned my world upside down so I had a hard time laughing at that one. Take that serious, which I’m sure you are. I love listening to you guys, Makes me feel smart, and usually I’m not.

I live in Old Hickory. Took my kid (8 years old) through the neighborhood haunted house off Pitts. Seeing the terror on his face was priceless! Proud dad moment when he made it all the way through.
