True preppers don't go on TV, and wouldn't rely on supplies or a car, they go into the wilderness and live off the land.

The military in Iraq did this to their humvees. Didn't work out that great considering maintenence on the vehicles. The engine broke down more frequent because of the extra weight. I just wonder how long this car will last. The armor is great against small armsfire, but at the cost of engine duration.

That steel doesn’t look thick enough to stop typical rifle rounds 5.56 or even 7.62. If 5.56 can punch through level III AR500 steel then it can through that. It may stop pistol rounds but not higher velocity rifle rounds

Go ahead and hang me but I’m gonna say it. A Prius is my ideal bug out vehicle. Gas mileage and noise discipline is more important than armor and towing capacity in 90% of situations.
