Nathan Chen reacts to his Beijing 2022 gold medal-winning free skate!

𝗧𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆'𝘀 𝗲𝗽𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗱𝗲: USA's figure skating superstar Nathan Chen. The American set an international figure skating world-record in the men's short program at Beijing 2022 with a score of 113.97, topping the previous record of 111.82 set by Yuzuru Hanyu in 2020. He then won Olympic gold with a free skate score of 218.63 which included five quad jumps, finishing with a combined score of 332.60.

Oh, suddenly at mid program, you had a few options: "Scratch the Flip..., put the Flip at the end of the Lutz... or flip the Flip to a Triple Salchow..." What?! What?! It's mind-blowing! How could you think at all, Nathan? My goodness, who are you? LOL, I could see smoke coming out of my ears thinking the way you think. You're ONE OF A KIND, Nathan Chen. Much love and admiration, and hope to see you skate again someday.

He has so much discipline. His mind is like a calculator. I figured his head was prob super at processing info since he speaks so fast ☺️ Miss you, Nathan. It's just not the same without you on the ice.

He’s so sweet. It’s really mindblowing to hear his commentary, I had no idea that you have to do math while skating or trying to end the programme facing the judges, so many things going on in his head. Love his sense of humour❤

That performance was so surreal. I became a fan through that. Nathan Chen is an amazing athlete, and he deserves all the love and success! Wooohooo he achieved his life-long goal and still was so calm... He's got it figured out, very admirable

Nathan and Hanyu are huge fans and supporters of each other. Talent recognizes talent. They have one of the best competitive rivalries in skating history and have great respect for each other. It's completely possible and probable to like, support and appreciate them both, as I do !🥰✌
