I was looking forward to your reaction for this! Love the original and I loved this :D Also, i love the little lyric change from 'but we tried to fight it' to 'but we're trying to fight it.' Small change, big meaning..

I’ve been waiting for you guys to react to this song!!! I LOVE both versions but I think I love Fall Out Boy’s version better! Rhythmically it’s very similar but Fall Out Boy’s was more upbeat I feel like and also just POP-PUNK 🤘🏼

Rather than making my semi-usual comedic comment, just wanted to say for once that even though some of the music you react to isn't my cup of tea (for instance not usually a FOB fan, but did like this cover), I really do love the relationship you two have. Probably the most honest relationship from a reaction duo on this planet as everyone else plays it like they are all nicey nicey with each other all the time, but you two rip the piss out of each other like proper mates do.

Billy Joel gave them full blessings and wouldn't have let them release it if he was unhappy with how they took it. As a huge fan of both FoB and Billy Joel, I find it hard to fault this version and I'm immensely proud that my generation has this to define it.

I just wished it was in order, of all the "gen z" stuff in the song the most gen z thing is that they didnt take the time to sit down a write it in order. Maybe they did that on purpose but if so not a fan of it as a choice creatively, Billy Joel wasn't just stuff that happened it was things that happened in his lifetime, from his perspective (clearly he wasnt a big Star Wars fan, idk what he said for 1977 lmao) but it wasnt just pop culture. Even the Music Video it goes through the times of kitchens in the 50s, and then the 60s with colour tv and spandex then the 70s with its garish colours and it ends on the stainless steel fridge that became the norm for the 2000s I like FoB so idk this was just disappointing cuz I thought they would've understood the source material a lot more but its like they didnt get the point of the song at all its just "trump, the simpsons, geroge bush, pokemon, dabbing, nintendo 64" (?????????)

@@s1ckboirari idk about anyone could've written this when they had to really time so many of these to the beat and find certain things to rhyme. A lot of talent goes into that alone. FOB definitely aren't Gen Z lol.

@@noplacelikestorybrooke6968 ofc their not but then they go on to make a song about all gen z things, Bill Clinton? Covid? George Bush? North Korea? Hilary Clinton? Osama? why're they not talking about its full of holes it doesn't make sense, and if it doesnt rhyme, find something different from that year to rhyme with, a lot of sht happens every year, Im sorry but if a lyricist cant find words to rhyme then they're not a great lyricist

@@s1ckboirari I think you might be confused about who gen z is because the only thing you mentioned that is gen z would be covid... Gen z are at the oldest 24, they'd barely know clinton, bush and osama other than through history books. They didn't live through that stuff... Ah well, agree to disagree, I like the way they did it but that doesn't mean everyone has to. FOB have always have shown talent through their lyrics imo but we're all different. No worries.

Try some music by YES one of the greatest progressive rock groups of all time and my favorite band. You haven't reacted to them at all. They have many long songs that are masterpieces. Not your usual music. Some good ones include "Roundabout", "Close to the Edge", "The Gates of Delirium". "Awaken", "Turn of the Century"... Loads of good ones. I will subscribe if you do and so will hundreds of YES fans.

The difference between this version and Billy Joel's version are that his version is a story. By doing the events in chronological order, the song is so much more powerful. This version lacks that. This is just a list of stuff that happened in the last 30 years
